yeah this weekend i watched a guy that had probably never hit a jump before tuck into a big table...by the time he landed he was 53% through a backflip and 10-15 ft past the landing. after he got hauled away barely alive the park was closed the rest of the weekend. why do these people try to hit jumps? bunch of idiots
whatever

So would I ^^^^
but yea, that happens a lot. And then they tell you to get out of the way when you go big and wipe out. But we laugh at them too for even going into the park. Also, i hate the kids who just do curves really slow all the way down the pipe.

i think there should be like an entrance exam into parks....like a quick lesson on park etiquette and basics on jumping and if they cannot pass that test they should not be aloud in...and they can have a small beginner park for starting out on but i think beginners should not be aloud on parts of the mountain

You know, most places dont have enough runs for a beginner park, and another park.

blue mountain, ont. - they have a sick park that can only be accessed by one lift. to access this park you must have a park pass, which is an additional ten dollars. to get it you have to watch a video and if you're under 18 you gotta have your 'rents sign a waiver.
jodi has the exact stats, but basically it has cut injuries in half.
so maybe suggest it to your mountain... of course scrap the extra 10 bucks... and make it like $5

this is my idea...assuming that you agree with me on the idea that terrain gets more difficult as you go higher up the mountain. ok, instead of a chairlift there should be a rope. each person has to grab on a hang from the rope. if your strong enough, you can make it to the top. If your a little strong, you fall off somewhere in the middle. if your a pussy ass bitch, you fall off on the bunny slope. the only bad part about this idea, instead of skiing i would end up watching people fall all day. thats where the fun is.

doesnt mammoth have something where you have to be okayed to ski in their 'expert' terrain park to prevent dumbass's from killing themselves.
At Aspen we had a guy die from NY, he had never hit the jump, flat light, and he tried a 360. He crowned the jump and knocked himself into a coma...dumbass!

Whistler has the 'highest-level' terrain park and the normal terrain park right next to it. to get into the highest level terrain park you gotta wear a helmet, pay extra money, and get your parents to sign a waiver if you're under 18. It works and keeps the dumbasses out. The highest level park is sooo sick, plus, there's a beginner park with small hits and rails.

yeah up at heavenly we have a suck ass park but it has some big hits, it used to be like a small side and a big side
and all the gapers would hit the small side fall and chopp the landing making switch landings basicly impossible but they took out the small sides keeping gapers away from the park

There should be a gap that people have to get across to get into the park. If they can't jump across then they don't get in the park.

A gap with a pit of death. If they don't clear the gap then they plummit into a pit.
Not only will it keep the beginners out of the park, but it will rid the world of some stupid people (it's a given that snowbladers couldn't clear it)

we built a deathtrap behind one of our jumps last year so no little dumbass snowbladers would come and do their patented backscracth over and over again, and a kid fell in and broke his collarbone,

i like the pit of death idea, but maybe instead of a pit of death, it could be like one of those ball pits like they have at McDonalds (once, i lost a sock in one of those ball pits)
also, i think it would be a good idea if there was a sign before each jump, like at a golf course, telling you what kind of jump it is and how big a gap it has, etc.

That blows!!
One time my brother went off this huge jump and totally fucked up on the landing. Then one of those guys with no legs who rides in like the sled thing got huge air and landed it. It was halarious.

The gap jump entrance IS a good idea but how would the sign thing work? they are constantly adding and changing jumps everyday. Something needs to be done to keep the retards out of the park i agree

i think you should be a little easier on the beginners, everyone has to start somewhere, there should be some regulation though, every once and a while you get some little kid that snow plows up the big air and screws it up. Total idiots need to be banned too, but not beginners, everyone dosn't start out good

I think most of us don't care about beginners, we hate the people that go in there with no intention to do tricks. That is what the entrance pass for. It keeps the people that just want to dick around out and keeps the park for the people that really want to be there.

I think that a special pass, or sticker on your pass would be a good idea to show that you have the skills not to kill yourself each time you hit a big table. It is not posible to prevent even injuries, it is possible to prevent the stupid ones. Also usually the stupid ones are the worst of injuries.

Do it the way whistler does. A 'pro' park for anyone who's got enough skill to clear tables and $15 for an access pass, and smaller parks for everyone else. Less people get hurt, and the pro park is never that busy.

Begginers are fine, I am one myself, I'm taling about proper park etiquette. Wait for you turn to hit a table, dont cut ppl off, dont bomb into a 60ft table if your a newb (i dont) and dont just ski down thru the park like a fag. also if there were a test to restrict ppl from parks mtn's like mine wouldn't have to ban inverts

when i went up to blue mountain i thought it was pretty gay that you had to pay money to get in the park. It was only 10 canadian so i payed it. It turned out to be great. The line for the park was nonexistent or short and noone was messing up the jumps.

i love the pay to get in the park idea. parents wont pay for their little kids ticket, and ppl with no intention of goin in the park and killing themselves dont get tempted to do 2 and a half backflips 30 feet in the air onto their head

You have to start somewhere, and if you can't get in, then you can't start. But some shitheads just have to stay out.

I think you shouldn't have to pay the extra money, but you should have to watch a movie on proper ediquette. I don't think the dumbasses would go through the trouble of doing it

ok i have a question with this whole park ettiqutee (sp). So i've gotten into the park a lot more this year and i', finding people who just sit there, mainly snowboarders who don't look like they are gonna hit the jump. so i ski to the front of the drop zone and call 'dropping' and than hit the jump and get yelled at for not waiting my turn. If people are sitting they aren't in line! and than the people that yell at me for not giving the guy in front of me enough time to get outta the landing. wtf? if i see the guy ride away or move off to the side i'm gonna go. i think park ettiquite is over rated/not standard enough to have a clear set of rules. people should just use common sense. shit this was long sorry
the magazine is called 'POWDER' cool! - my stupid non-skiing friend
