i'd hit it straight. 120 feet is pretty damn huge, but realistically, a lot of backcountry cliffs require 120 feet of air. it would help to see somebody stomp it first though.
probably not chads, but if I had a few seasons out west where I could get some shit down on 50s and 60s then take it to 75-80 foot table tops I would start with pyramid on a good day with perfect jump and good conditions and take it from there... oh and you would have to hire a wax guy for me cuz there ain't no guesswork that goes into "is this wax fast enough for these conditions?" its do or die
I retract former statement on pyramid... I want to spin some 60s 70s and 80s before I even consider a straight air over pyramid
and to all of you saying you can straight air chads, you better have a racer style straight air cuz if you open up at 60mph in the air, your body is gonna be like a parachute and ya wont make it!
hell yea i would hit it... im not scared...but i would be really nervous... i think i would need someone to do it before me... just so i could see how much speed i would need. i prolly wouldnt guinnea pig it.
i wish i could afford to go down and try it this year... maybe next season
you only live life once right? im going to do it sooner or later...
dude...don't forget that some random guys from montana, that didn't even know how to get to it, rolled up to chad's last year...built the hit, inrun, etc. and proceeded to tell everyone to grab their ankles without ever opening their mouths. THERE ARE hardcore skiers out there that could own chad's right next to our heroes from montana. it's burly, but not impossible.
absolutely true. i certainly would not trust my own jump-building abilities on Chad's. I'd only hit it off a pro made booter in good conditions. that's not the question though.
if everything was perfect and there were other people clearing it perfect and my skis were in great condition and im not misconcieveing it from pictures mayb.....but probably not......idk mayb ill take a trip sometime within the next few years
The funny thing is...I bet more than half of the people in this thread would change their mind after seeing it in real life. Things always look smaller on video.
I will be in racing in park city next year for 3 weeks in feb, so after im done MAYBE i will hit it, maybe we'll see i will let you know, but i will need someone to hit that shit first
^^ i dont know if that's true. most serious freeskiers have gotten 100+ feet of air a few times. and Chad's is so famous that more people would be willing to hit it just for the glory. whether or not they'd clear the gap is another question.
i think i would probably do it but also when a boy , with the same weight jump before me!!!!!!!!
i cleared a 80 footer and i think 130 would be possibly because i hit the 80 footer easily
i dont think that i would hit it. the biggest ive hit was like 50 feet so its more than double that. but maybe if i got an adrenaline rush cuz of music, ppl, etc. maybe i would. doubt it though
