1. Complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament.

2. Vertical longitudinal tear in the posterior horn of the medial miniscus.

3. Tear involving the inferomedial aspect of the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus with an associated meniscal cyst.

4. Bone bruising over the tibial plateau and over the lateral femoral condyle posteriorly.

5. High signal in the soft tissues of the posterolateral corner, possible reflecting capsular injury here.


SO I'm not a doctor or a radiologist but I'm thinking it can't possibly be any worse....

You could have torn ur mcl, lcl, and pcl too, so technacly you could be worse off. You'll be skiing next year dont worry.

haha I don't know how it happened, it was first run of progression..ask sarah burke she was the only one who saw, and I drink milk....but I can't go like 6 months without breaking myself...its terrible, I'm thinking of living in a bubble

definately a lot of technical mumbo jumbo in there, but it's really not all that bad. rupture, tear, bruising.. it'll all heal perfectly. painful i'd imagine, no doubt, but it could definately be worse if you'd smashed bones

umm I think a year off after surgery, and to who ever said at least I didn't break something...?? a break is liek max 6 weeks, I would much much rather have broken something, I would be skiing already

damn. mine is supposively going to only be 10 months including both surgeries, have you set any surgery dates yet?

when i tore my ligaments the first thing i did was cry knowing i did somethin bad and that i wouldnt be able to ski, the pain wasn't bad. haha

no, you most certainly would not have. i broke my shoulder 2 years ago and it never fully regained strength. i can't hold any weight at all when my arm is bent at 90 degrees. after the injury, i was out 2 months with a sling, 3 months of physio after that, and, like i said, it's never going to be at 100% again. and i just took a small chip out of it, it wasn't even a severe break. injuries to ligaments are always shitty though, because they often DO require surgery and they take such a long time to heal. does this mean it's a more severe injury though? not necessarily, because i've torn both of my lcl ligaments when i was about 15 and the damage isn't permanent. the problem about breaking bones is that you often destroy cartilage aswell which never heals properly unless you have surgery (but only in really severe breaks). so in my case, since i didn't, the cartilage is all fucked up, and when i move my shoulder into certain positions, i get the worst nerve pinching sensation ever.

don't ever say things can't get worse, because you could be paralyzed or even dead..

I go see the surgeon again tomorrow, and I'll go from there...ughh. I'm seeing this chiropractor tho and he is like doing all this crazy shit to my knee and he thinks I don;t need an acl to ski?? so he said when he is done fixing me up I can ski in 3 weeks, but like every doctor and surgeon is liek take up another sport now and you can do anything for 9 months to a year

umm mine said i couldn't ski without my acl. and especially being an aggressive skier (i'm assuming) you most deffinately need one. I wouldn't listen to him, just your surgeon.

yah thats what I'm thinking, fuckkkk whatever I have decided that since I don't get to ski this winter I'm just going to move to whistler next year to make up for my shitty winter

good luck with that! that sucks so bad. but its so weird that you did that off of a box..oh well.
last year i got hurt and had to get one of my ovarys removed... i would have much rather just torn my knee apart then lose my reportoductive system!

could you still walk on it after it happened? could you still ride with it? I fucked up my knee 2 months back. it hurt real bad for about 3 weeks but i could walk on it. I have been riding pretty hard ever since even though it is still pretty weak.

it was weird... i just caught an edge so badly and went down so hard. a few kids on here (NS) were with my and had to wake me up and shit... i ended up breaking 3 ribs, destroying my ovary, and brusing my kidney so it was bleeding. it was pretty intense. never been in so much pain. i got pictures on here from my surgery
