my computer won't stop over heating. I've dusted the entire inside, upgraded my cpu fan, my heat sync, my outer fans, I've cleaned out and defragmented my hard drive, but it still fucks up. I've also cleared out all virus's and spy/ad ware. any other suggestions?
I took the side cover off, and set up a big house fan next to it, and that seems to be keeping it cool. I touched the heat sync last time it overheated, and I burned my finger
how new is it? New processors come with thermal tape and do not require thermal compound unless overclocking. When you replaced your heat sync you make have messed up the tape or if compound was used did you re-apply it, correctly?
You can change the temperature that it restarts, from the bios setup. Just put more degrees there and it'll stop restarting... if thats what happens cause I actually don't remember u saying it restarts...
my suggestion is get the parts looked at. something might have overloaded at one point and blown a connection between resistors. that will cause it to heat up alot.
