Replying to binding ideas...
it's late, and i've been thinking... the line binding is out now, and reviews are mixed, and i haven't ridden it myself so i have no idea how it is... but that's not important... what i think is important is the way it attaches to the ski... the 4 hole insert pattern. right now line skis are the only skis to have the inserts... but i think this should become a newschool standard. i think we should see companies with no binding affiliations (like K2 and Armada) put the inserts in their skis. not necessarily for the line binding, but to encourage a new industry standard. then binding companies would make bindings to fit... and then we would all have easily interchangable bindings. and all binding companies should make bindings that mount like this... it would be just like snowboards. no more destroying skis by drilling them... just screw in or screw out... another thing that would be cool is if instead of 4 holes (2 rows) maybe there should be 3 rows, so you can't mount on the back 2 rows for freeriding, or switch it to the front 2 rows for park and pipe. you could even have more rows than that i guess... then there wouldn't be any more of this 'where should i mount my bindings, blah blah' you would just mount them where you want for that day or that situation, and switch it up as needed. just some things to ponder.
