anyone else see the stones at halftime? i saw them at fenway park in the summer and it was sick, and compared to that the halftime was relatively good even though it was short
i saw them in boston january 13th and they were incredible, but i think they sounded/looked terrible at the half show. it almost seemed like they didn't want to be playing there.
waaaayyyyyy past their prime. Although i did like it when Mick said" . . . And i twy, and i twy and i twy" the belly dance and tight shirt was gross as hell though.
I'm surprised they are still alive. I read in a Rolling Stones interview a few years ago that back in the 70s, Mick Jagger got so fucked up on different drugs and tons of booze that he flew to Sweden and demanded a doctor there give him a total blood transfusion. He wanted all the blood in his body taken out and replaced with new blood, because he was so fucked up, ahahahaha. That old bastard
That's exactly what my dad said when I mocked him, he's like, "Except he's slept with more girls than you've ever seen." I was like, "wow, thanks dad." lol.
i dunno man, they are pretty much the single greatest rock and roll band of all time. they seriously killed it in the day, but now an incontinent bowel and alzhimers are starting to kick their ass. not to mention heroin and coke shot and snorted for the last 40 years. it'll fuck ya up
Please, shut up. If you know your rock shit, you'll know Mick is the first one that ever danced in such a way that was wholly new. Not like Elvis, I mean in a erotic/feline-like way to create a very special link between crowd and performer; however that effect is lost these days. The Stones still fucking rock though...
Although I think we can all agree that it is due time for Keith Richards to die. He looked like a walking corpse (much worse that Jagger) and barely like he was playing his axe. He didn't do any of the solos either.
As for the sound. I'll agree that the acoustics weren't very impressive and I was expecting something like "You can't always get what you want" with tons of choirs exploding everyhwere at the end à la Hey Jude last year. But what I think happened is that they actually performed; and the acoustics on that big a stadium are never going to be that good, but you get ragged on when you use dubbing (not full lip-sync). For instance, last year, McCartney was singing but there was probably also a pre-recorded track layed over, because it sounded too good for the acoustics of the place, and consequently it put on a much better show.
