I landed really far forward two weeks ago and my achilles tendon has been hurting whenever I lean forward. It's not a constant pain but it hurts like a bitch whenever I butter. Ski patrol said it would take 12 weeks of no skiing to heal. Fuck that. Does this shit really take that long to heal? Any ways to speed the healing up?
yea im still recovering. ive heard it takes awhile to completly heal but im giving 3-4 weeks. its most likely gonna be sore forever but that you can deal with. i also take some aleve before skiing on it
i strained my achilles tendon 2 seasons ago. I had one week off, and then continued skiing. Hardly skied switch and had a lacking of confidence. Bit i was still out there. It's a "take it easy" injury.
i got achilles tendonitis last summer during baseball, and it was a bitch. it wasn't the most excrutiating (don't know spelling) pain, but once in a while when i was walking i would just feel a sharp stabbing pain. i think it took me around a month of no baseball or running to heal so it wasn't that bad. just stretch it out everyday for a good ten minutes and it will feel a lot better.
Yeah i hurt mine a few years ago playing soccer and although i was able to play on it pretty much the whole time(maybe a week or two off) it was sore for a solid year and a half to two years. It's nothing to fuck around with. If u can take time off, do it. But i understand that it's hard to take time off of skiing. Just be prepared to rest it up all summer.
