so, this week the coach of the jackson hole freeride team Jon Burril went to snowbird for the extreme comp there, last minute changes were made and the competitors had to ski a different face, which blows cuz for ne of you who ski big mountain you will no you dont really want to charge when you dont know wut is under you. This is where my coach had problems. So my coach, a fuckin charger, sent it of a thirty footer that other competitors had been hitting, but Jon took it off the cliff going a good 35-40 mph and overshots the normal landing and lands on an island of rocks. as a consequence he shattered his ankle, broke his tib fib, broke is femur and fractured his hip in several places. so the moral of the stor y is that sucks cock and i recommend scoping your lines, being conservative if the course changes, and not to charge for the gold if you unsure about something

Sucks, what a gnarly crash. A couple people ate shit in that comp. I know a guy who was unsure where he was going and somehow managed to pull a line together and qualfied 2nd place (sorry to take away from your moral)
Charging lines full speed when you don't know where you are going is incredibly dangerous, you could send it off a 300 footer onto a rockband, anything could happen.

no the part that sucks is this guy came into this season in such good shape from running marathons, in Jackson he sends like 30 foot threes to mogul landings on a regular basis, i personally thought he could do real well, but shit seems to happen

Oh Shit! I can't believe that happened to Jon. That's the worst news I've heard in a while. Damn I feel so bad for him. That guy does charge a little too hard sometimes.

that is a fucking hardcore crash...if it didnt cause so much pain/damage id be proud of that one...."How'd you break your femur?" "I overshot the landing on a 30 footer and landed on some rocks."

Was he the dude that was life flighted out on the qualifying day? If so I heard that it look like he was trying to double up a double drop and didn't quite clear it. My friend said it was a gnarly crash.
