Ok this is really bugging me. I have been practicing hitting jumps switch this years and I have a reoccuring problem. I can ski switch really well down pretty much any terrain. I can carve switch really well and I can go really fast switch. However, when it comes to hitting jumps switch half the time I just can't go straight I always end up turning, hook my my tips on the takeoff, and then I don't clear the landing. When I do manage to go straight off of it I can do a switch 180 pretty easy, but i usually land kind of back seat. Anyone had these problems and have ne tips for me?
yeah man, when crusing switch if you've gotta turn, just make into a carve, that way you don't lose your speed. Then not to hook your tips just wait for the spin, don't throw it right away, wait it out.
thanks guys, yea maybe subconciously I pussing out and that is why I am having so many problems. I just feel like so much more comfortable turning switch then jsut going straight.
It's like spinning off a really small jump then trying to spin on a box... It's all mental. And I think you're just rusing the spin causing the catching of the tips.
i just learned switch 1's this weekend and the trick is to pop like you normally do but then wait a split second until you're in the air then look over your shoulder. they're really easy once you get the hang of it
I fucking love taking off switch i almost never take off regular anymore
just dont think about it too much and head to the jump relaxed as possible. You dont want to be struggling for control right before the lip cause thats when you fuck up. if your just going for cab 1s just float off the lip, dont try and spin. bring your legs up and arms down so youll all tucked up and steezy then you can float down to the landing
if you can get those real comfortable just wind up a tiny bit before you take off at the lip and youll automaticly spin a cab 3 as long as the jump is big enough. I just learned cab 5s a couple days ago its the same thing exept you just have to throw yourself harder off the lip and you will pass 3 and be at 5 before you knwo it
i just learned switch 3s and 1s too. the trick is not to speed check. just go straight and look over the same shoulder as the way you spin and it will just work out
