ok i went skiing today and got some decent footy. after we were done taping for a while we watched it and it was working fine. later i videoed for a little while more. i wnet to watch the footy from the whole day and the footy from the first section of filming and from 2 days ago wouldnt work...the screen was all blue like it normally is whn nothing is playing but it was supposed to be playin and it had the little green triangle for play on the screen. the shit from later in the day worked fine and the stuff from 2 weeks ago work fine but everything else ws just blue. is there anyway i can get it to work again and still have my footy. if it helps i have a jvc (not sure waht model) and it take mini dv tapes
man this has happened to me when you where filming you didnt fast forward your tape all the way to the last footi u shot so it overcopied some tape previously and gets fucked. atleast thats wat happened to me..
the horizontal lines happen when u replay ur tape fully before it has warmed up. ive found that its best to leave ur cam to completly warm up until u replay ur footage because the horizontal lines are there from the frames freezing. im not sure if thats why that happens, but if it continues to happen def get a inner tap cleaner or whatever its called if u know what i mean cuz that should fix it.
was the tape brand new? or were you recording over old footage? Probably only thing you can do is get a cleaning tape....sry.
I ruined my final project for my video class last year because of digital drop out. I shot an interview with a guy at Killington talking about the new Camp Freeride and stuff, and when i went to log and capture it 90% of the interview was useless. Shit happens bro.
If it's just one section, you're fucked. the footage is gone forever. if you're ever shooting something that's important, make sure it's on new tape. usually you can record over old footage, but why take the chance of it not working? just get a new tape man. They're not that much.
