So its about time for me to start applying for colleges and I am trying to decide between University of Utah, U of oregan, MSU(I live in bozeman so this is the most budget friendly.) Or University of British Columbia. I heard that UBC has like 50 thousand undergrads and is filled with asians though. Can anyone that goes there comment on how expensive it is, is there good skiing near by, is there a good party scene and is there places to work? Any help would be appreciated.
I visited twice, and they have like 25000 undergrads i think, and yes there are a lot of asians because its a major port city on the pacific. Vancouver is a sweet city, really new and clean. UBC is about 12000 a year then like room and board and shit makes it around 18000-20000. And there is no skiing nearby (psyche!), except for whistler which is like an hr and half and cypress which is like 20 minutes, and then fernie and big white are in the area (not exactly close though). I'm gunna go there next year...hopefully
i just finished applying for arts this morning. High grades to get in, 84 for arts, more or less 90 for science and commerce, scholarships you need above 90%. I dont think I'd call UBC a party university, there are a lot of rich asians, but im sure there are lots of cool people too. And Vancouver's a dope town. As of the skiing, you cant beat a whistler season's pass for 380 bucks with tax, the greyhound leaves at 6:15 every week end but its kind of expensive. Then the local hills are cool, Seymour's the best, grouse the closest, cypress nice but lots of tourists there...
