First of all congrats to Corey, John, and JP for terriffic performances this weekend in Aspen. In the restructured slopestyle event Spriggs finished 6th (skiing without and ACL) and Corey finished 8th with really tweaked cab 10s. Corey broke his wrist in pipe practice and wasn't able to compete but should be back in a few weeks after getting a hard cast put on. JP held it down and finished 6th in pipe with a really solid run.
Damn, thats cray...but there is no way it is fully torn, mayvbe still partially...but this could help explain why spriggs didnt throw cab 12 or even 14 because he threw cab 12 at last years open
he tore it. he has no ACL and it is painful for him to ski but he is waiting to have surgery until after he finishes his movie segment and comp season or when can no longer ski. he also has a very painful bone bruise which forces him to land switch so it hurts less.
alot of people can do everything without an acl. it just depends on the person and how they are put together. im not saying its a good idea, but some people are barely affected.
Yeah, with ashley, she doesnt have very strong legs, but spriggs on the other hand being a guy, has much stonger legs, therefore the muscles compensate for not having an ACL to a certain extent.
The man just gets it done no matter what. its nothing crazy.. people do it all the time.. not just skiing.. guys play football with no acl and thats a lot harder to do. CHyea.. Peace
depends on how bad you tear it... if its completely gone, you most likely can't walk, but if its a small partial tear then it wouldn't be as big of a deal.
mine was completely shot, they said if i tried to ski i would completely collapse cause i pretty much had no knee
i completely blew out my ACL. when you completely blow it out, there is not that much pain, and you could ski with it, it would just be more unstable. in my case, i also tore my lateral and medial meniscuses, which is what causes most of the pain and the not being able to ski. when you dont have an ACL though, every other ligament in your knee is weakened, so if you fall, the chances of tearing more shit are high.
