Settle the invader question

I know a lot of people have been wondering about invaders and whether they are better than this ski or that ski. It seems to me that invaders are strictly a park ski, decent on groomers, but aweful in the bumps. I was wondering if this is really the case, cuz I can't find a pair to demo anywhere. Also, are they really THAT MUCH better in the park than some of the new 05/06 scratch FS's (with the THC core)? Cuz, I got some AR5s, and they are decent all mountain, and I will get another all mountain ski like the FS unless teh invaders are THAT much better in the park.

the invaders and scratch fs are two completely different skis. if you are heavier, you might like the scratch. personally, i am on the lighter side, and hate them. for a park ski, they are pretty stiff. the invaders are soft, but still ski decently all mountain. they obviously arent great for powder due to the center mount. the same holds true in the bumps, unless you know what you are doing. in my opinion, they have a little too much tail for skiing bumps. if you are looking for something thats good in the park, invaders or troublemakers are your best bet. both have tons of pop, are super easy to nose butter on, and hold up better than everyone on ns says they do. i've been on my invaders close to 50 days this year. yeah, the tips split, but i glued them back together and they are fine. plus, for $299, you cant get a better deal.

Well the shop sells some of the new FS's for 330. Argh I just dont know I am between 165 and 170 pounds, around 6 1. I know they are completely different. You know what, I should probably get the FS's since i have the AR5s, but I dunno I am about to give up. Unless there was anything else around 300 bucks that is good.

dude i just gave you your answer. 178 invaders are going to be the best park ski for you, trust me. i'm 6' 160, so i am built about the same as you. if you are looking for something thats gonna be fun to play around in the park with, its not the fs.

hmm, lets see...
POSITIVE
1) The invaders are real bouncy. I find that over little bumps, you catch an amount of air everytime. Which I enjoy.
2) Flexable as hell. If you know how to butter, you will be king
3)Can take rail damage. I havn't barely recieved a scratch yet. And I hike rails 3-4 times a week.
4)Fairly light, flex makes up because you can ollie real well.
NEGATIVE
1) They tend to delaminate. It is delamination in the literal sence because the clear lamination is coming off, not the topsheet, so the performance isn't hindered at all
2) Not made for backseat landings, the flex in the back pops you back up, slides you out, or in RARE conditions, may snap.
3) Very high speeds get frightening
NOTE: These are all my personal feelings on it. I don't want peple complaining that's not what happens, results vary. But still, I love the ski.

Well ya, sry I mean I know that no question invaders kick ass in the park. But, I got some AR5s, and they are already kick ass in the park, so I don't really think that I need a park specific ski. Its kind of like ballancing out what i need more. Im soo confused.

Ok, im pretty sure that im getting the FS's now. I already got good park skiis, and my shop has a 3 day full in store credit so i can always trade out scratches if i dont like them.

the invaders are really only worth getting if you really like to butter, that's pretty much it. Cause anything else you can do with the invaders you can get out of a stronger ski, except for the eliptical side cut, which was really fun to ride with, but just look for the lizzies or future line skis with taht side cut to avoid the first year invader delam problem

Ya, well I got some scratches to demo, Im gonna see how they are in the park if they suck im gonna go with the invaders since my armadas are pretty good all around. Plus, line has an awsome warranty from what I hear. I was thinkin about chronic, but I know they are even stiffer that any of em so i dont think i would like that.

I'm adding onto my list
5) Elliptical sidecut makes the ride real fun, it catches the snow and is a good leaning carver. As they adivertise, it does ride fun like a snowboard.
6) Anything switch is 10x's easier. Since it's the same ski forwards and backwards the switch landings are just as easy. I've pulled myself out of so much crap that I thought I was completely dead.
NEGATIVE
1) They tend to delaminate. It is delamination in the literal sence because the clear lamination is coming off, not the topsheet, so the performance isn't hindered at all
2) Not made for backseat landings, the flex in the back pops you back up, slides you out, or in RARE conditions, may snap.
3) Very high speeds get frightening. At least for me, I'm not a fast guy, I like screwing around at a medium speed and ollieing random things...
NOTE: These are all my personal feelings on it. I don't want peple complaining that's not what happens, results vary. But still, I love the ski.
