its probly cause youre progressing, so youre spinning faster, then once you land like a 7 that youve been working on for a while, thats all that youre gonna do cause you just learned it and you wanna show it off so you do it all the time. that kinda happened to my friend, he was trying for a 7 then he finally got it, and only did them for like a weekend or 2. then he went to 3 a big table, and almost got severly worked cause he hadnt spun one in so long, and his speed spinning was off
you guys seem to know a lot about spinning. im kinda new to freeskiing and ive tried spins before. usually i go about 180 and then stop spinning and fall and hurt myself. any tips?
yea...if your trying to do a 3 theen what you need to do is aproach the jump with some speed wind up and then as you get to the top of the jump start unwinding and then once you arms are straight in from of your wind pop and then keep throwing your arms flat over your shoulder anddont stop looking oiver your shoulder until you have the rotation
same thing happened to me a while ago wen i first started doin switch 1's. i could do them super slow (over like a 50ftr) and land them perfect. then i started to bigger spins (that i could do fine be4) and i wasnt makin my rotation
stop using the word progressing or its progressive.. god damn... anyone can huck a fuckin 7 and hope to land... but throwin a c3 real smooth is a lot harder to accomplish.. it has nothign to do with progression.. if you cant land 3s and only 5's or 7's that doesnt make you better cause you can spin more.. it means you have no control over ur rotation and cant spot ur landing or judge your pop to spin of the take off..
and fuck the word epic while im at it too.. no rail or jump anywhere is epic unless its 123490872394inches of snow in AK or the alps..
im just sick of people having to follow what everyone else is doing.. being soo worried if something is cool or if something isnt cool.. or if this is what i should be doing or not... and those two words are over used sooo much on this forum that its insane..
My new switch 3's in the BC are super progressive, and I tried on off this 20 ft cliff in Jackson, so epic.
and who ever said its harder to float a smooth 3? they are stupid, 3's are like completely mindless, I would guinea a 80 ft jump with a 3 truckdriver, but might not ever do a 9 on it.
if the jump is smaller, bigger spin, if the jump is bigger, smaller spin because its kind of fun but i get nervous in the air sometimes wen i do straight airs on big jumps, so if i just do a 3 on bigger ones, i dont look at the ground wen i spin and i cant see how high i am
switch 10 to win is what skiing comps have become. it is not cool but it is what we have. as long as people who don't know the sport continue to watch they would rather see a 10 than a smooth 5, and they're the people that run espn and have never even hit up the mini park. so it is up to us to organize our own comps not for compettition but for proggresion to take the sport whear it should be.
