Ok so this won't be that long. But Racism.
Why is it that blacks are proected from racism everywhere I turn? Why is it that I am persecuted ona daily basis for being a Christian yet it doesn't matter? Ok blacks DESERVE racism, why? Because they are racist right back. For example. How many songs blatantly say WHITE PEOPLE! in the back ground of todays popular music? None. Todays rap? Blacks use racial slang towards both of us on a regular basis. Now there are Black scholarshiup funds in the United States. Have you heard of a caucasian scholarship fund? NO That is because they have a lower standard. It is fact. Am I saying they are not as smart? No They try less? Yes. Just for the record, I didn't say whether I was white or black in any of my scholarship essays. Do black people need opportunities because they are oppressed? No. You know how much work it is to get out of the ghetto? Like 6 blocks of WALKING. When I turned 18 my family sent me out and told me GOOD LUCK. Nothing more, I started with nothing. BIG WHUP. welcome to the world. It is their decision to sling or whatever. That is their own decision people. There aren't white activist groups. You don't have to be scared when you are black to be around whites. How many neighbor hoods have you heard of where black people j"just don't go?" None, blacks are in Beverly Hills and LOTS of nice places, Will Smith, or Jesse Jackson? But now their are neighbor hoods where if you are white you just don't go their. Why? BECAUSE THE BLACKS RUN IT. WTF is that. Now I am not anti black, I have a few black friends. My point is that its over dun. And while I am at i DIND IT OFFENSIVE THAT SOMEONE WOULD CREATE A THREAD Purposefully dissing people riding for Jesus. I am a Christian, just as I am white. It is persecuting me just the same yet the site allows it, and the world allows it. Why is this? Why can we not have a nation under God, that was BUILT under God?

it isn't shitty. You have not presented any reasoning about why his views are wrong, instead you come on here and make personal attacks about what he stands for. You are trying to be open minded by saying that he is wrong and narrow minded in his views, and then you attack Christianity. YOU are narrow minded and you are everything that you hate.

seriously, this guy is a moron. he thinks religion has a legitimate part in argument on race. sorry, we're not impressed that you're a Christian. it has nothing to do with the issue.

his rationale is that because he has a better life, he's worked harder than others have. um, no.

Do you know anything about him? Maybe if you didn't talk out of your ass you would know that he pays his own way with his own painting business. He works hard for what he has, and little shits like you don't respect that.

He also didn't say that religion has anything to do with racism, only descrimination. People can descriminate against Christians and talk all kinds of shit, but don't say anything about black people...no...that would be terrible. The point is that both are wrong because in both circumstances you are judging people.

His arguement can be broken into two parts-
1-There is a huge double standard with racism that is biased against white people and
2- That descriminating and making fun of people for religion is ok, but god forbid somebody says something about a certain race. Both are wrong.

Exaggeration my ass. i was actualyl assigned detentin for saying the word during an oral presentation. I also was assigned detentino for calling the Magazine rack "elk" that we were making "raindeer". One of them had a red nose for god sakes, but they were not rudolph, just elk with colds.

it's people like you who perpetuate racism. you say "i'm not anti-black, i have a few black friends" and you think this makes you not racist, but still you talk about how "blacks deserve racism" and that "they are lazy" and so on. you may not be hardcore racist but you are racist enough to generalize and stereotype black people. i'm sorry but as funny as your statement that all they have to do to get out of the ghetto is walk 6 blocks is wrong. it's pretty well known that the education systems are not nearly as good as other places, so therefore it is harder for black people to get a good education, good jobs, and the opportunities to "get out of the ghetto". believe it or not, the reason urban areas are mostly black is because they have been oppressed for so long by white people, not because "they are lazy". the argument for affirmative action is to give opportunities to minorities so that they won't be so looked down upon in the long run. sure it might be considered a racist policy in the short term, but eventually it will level the playing field and hopefully lower the level of racism that goes on, because what you (and others in this thread) are saying is racism whether you believe you are a racist or not.

i hate it, espcially affirmative action, thats such crap. Just because they are black or a minority.. they shouldnt be favored. I mean its not like the black community its discriminated against that much these days anyways, NBA has a ton of black guys on their teams, the whole rap and hip hop nation is huge. The black community is growing, therefore they should recieve no racial preference.

buddy, you're putting words in my mouth. you're right, i don't know what he does, so how could i not respect that? i'm sure what he does is admirable, but my point is he's stereotyping like crazy.


1) agreed. affirmative action is bullshit.

2) if both are wrong, why are you defending him? he posts a huge rant about how black people are all lazy and then expects not to have the fact that he's a Christian thrown in his face, especially since he himself mentioned it.

yes the double standard is bullshit, but my point is that when someone comes on here ranting about how black people are, collectively as a race, lazy and don't work hard, then it's bullshit. you know it and i know it.

There's always extenuating circumstances to every race of people. You shouldn't generalize black people into hating white people. It's not true and it will never be true. Generalizing is one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate it when people do it. Let's get the facts. None of us can really talk about blacks not being shown racism, because we aren't black. Racism does exist. It exists in the minds of the ignorant and of the intelligent. I don't care who you are or where you're from...you are in some way, shape, or form racist. It's human nature people. Now what we decipher as racism is ever-changing. You have your radical racists and your un-intentional racists. Most people are in between. Now the radical racists are people who take it waaaay too far. The people who are racist and don't know it are intentionally good people. It's not anyones fault...it is just human nature to be racist. We may not share our feelings with others. It's okay to be on the unmeaningful end of that scale. As long as there are different skin colors, there will be acknowledging of one's own "group".

ahah it's funny cuz we are polar opposites with respect generalizing. And yet I agree with the rest of what you said.

How can you not generalize? In fact how can you get any facts whatsoever without generalizing? If you put water and hydrogen in the same container you will often get water. but sometimes you will get H3O + O or HO + H. But we generalize and say that oxygen and hydrogen makes water.

You cannot reason without generalizing. It is human nature to generalize. That's why we group EVERYTHING. Verbs, noun, adjectives. Fruits, vegetables, legumes. Skinny, fat, average. White, black, hispanic. Tokyo, New York, London. You see what I mean. Everything in human life is divided into groups and we try to make generalizations based on these groups so that we can understand alot without having to individually explore everthing which is clearly far too time consuming to actually be done.

In fact you are largely hypocritical when you said:

"Racism does exist. It exists in the minds of the ignorant and of the intelligent."
- You generalized ignorant and intelligent ppl as having racism in their minds.

"I don't care who you are or where you're from...you are in some way, shape, or form racist."
- You generalized EVERYONE as being racist to some degree.

"You have your radical racists and your un-intentional racists. Most people are in between."
- You generalized "most people" as being moderately racist.

"Now the radical racists are people who take it waaaay too far. The people who are racist and don't know it are intentionally good people."
-You generalized radical racists as "taking it too far" and unintentional racists as having good intentions.

So lets not try to be idealists here. Generalizing happens. Steroetypes happen. What people need to focus on is not allowing these stereotypes to form rifts and segregation in socsiety or at the very least to minimize these effects.

#3 Let's think about what a generalization is. What you took from there is NOT generalization. Most is not a word you see with generalizations. All and None are.

#4 I stated another fact that Radical rasists do take it too far. If you are a radical then you are extreme in your actions. That is too far. If you are unintentionally racist, then you DO have good intentions. This just means you don't mean to think what you do.



I agree everyone generalizes and stereotypes. I do it sometimes, but I don't use it in my arguments. I keep these thoughts in my head and I don't share them or tell anyone about them in any serious matter. Everyone stereotypes, yes, but not everyone says them.

i agree. the whole program where its easier for minorities to get into college easier(i think its called affirmative action) is such shit. it should be done by income not by race. i know black kids who are richer than me and have never been to the hood in their life, but they will get into college before me just because of their skin. it even happens at my high school. there are tons of black kids who come and get grades like 1.5 and 1.0 and dont play any sports, when some of my friends would have like 3.0 or better and play several sports. yet the stupid black kids come to our school and be stupid and steal food. it pisses me off. they dont even try. i have almost as many black friends as white friends but i hate it how they get things easier when it comes to getting into schools. but i do love chapelle's show

I completely agree with that - I dont get how the dirt poor white male with no solid family structure and few opportunities in life due to his circumstances does not deserve the same help that a black/other minority gets. Does the white kid not deserve it as much? If that is the case, why?

I don't know where to start with this one. I can sort of see your point. Rappers/Black people get to drop the N bomb and talk about white boys all the time yet nothing is said and done, and I do think it's quite hypocritical. However just because they are doing it doesn't mean that the slavery/segregation/police brutality of the past and what's still going on today is justified. 6 blocks to get out of the ghetto? Please. That's awsome that you've succeeded from 'nothing' so to say, but I'm going to assume that you had loving parents and a good environment growing up. A lot of black people don't, and when they are confronted with dealinng with a long hard struggle to maybe make a legitimate living it's very easy to just sell drugs or join a gang. I think you need to get your facts straight and Learn 2 Play newb.

You generalized.

To generalize: To derive a broad conclusion, principle.

General: Pertaining to, including, or affecting all or the whole.

All I am saying here is that you do generalize, just as everyone generalizes and that it is typical, human and the only thing we have. So no one can discount someone elses arguement by saying "oh, that's just a generalization" because fact is derived from generalization. This is my pet peeve.

I am simply saying that everyoen has that quality. It is just like saying everyone has a brain. I am not generalizing that everyone has a brain. Generalizing and stereotyping are pro-judging groups of people for one person's actions. I'm talking the way we use generalize and stereotype as a society. Not what Webster says it is.

Okay, well according to webster, you are generalizing. And we all know webster is always right. But really, it is a technicality.

I would say that generalizing is good in some cases tho, and bad in others. In the context you are speaking of, I would agree that generalizing is bull. But I do it.

It's dark and I have two alley ways to walk down. Do I take my chance and walk past the teenagers loitering in alley 1 or do I take the long route home through alley 2? I choose the long route because in the past I have heard stories of people getting jumped by teenagers in alleys. I have generalized. Would I have gotten jumped? Maybe, maye not. But sometimes generalizing is a defense mechanism. In fact it is likely linked to evolution and that is why everyone generalizes to some extent.

ok, if you live in the city, it may be easier to sell drugs and make a living like that guy said. Thats my point. Its easier for everyone too, not just blacks. That does not help their argue ment at all. And for any black, you can get a long ways on 200 bucks, you could with 200 bucks go from LA to Montana, and righ tnow you can get a steady job at 12 bucks and hour without any experience or anything at all. But you never see that happen

LA to MT on 200 bucks is really pretty hard. If you're a guy living on the streets, or having it rough, imagine the strife involved with trying to get someone to give you a hitch. Even more so in a place like Los Angeles, California. If they drive themselves, I really doubt you can make it on 200 bucks. That won't even cover the gas. Not to mention buying a car, unless they buy a hybrid, then maybe. Although, under your "scenario" someone coming from the ghetto with 200 bucks doesn't really have the extra change for a new car. Perhaps a scooter. I like chillin with you Cody, but I've got to go against you on this. All these arguments are making are based on horribly blown out of proportion ideas. Stop being a racist dude, it's not cool.

Well dipshit, a lot of people have a good home, a good chance at steady job, and a chance at succeeding legitimately. A lot of black people don't, hence why they turn to drugs or violence. This is basic logical stuff, but I guess there is no logic to your racist talk is there?

OK just to recheck this Jake, we spent 800 bucks driving to whistler, and feeding, and eatting with 3 guys and spending like 8 days, on the road crossing BC, and we payed for beers, and some ski tickets,. And that trip was like double the distance. 200 bucks for one guy? striaght shot. Easy. I could hitch hike to vegas and get there on 50 bucks. I'm sure they could do it the other way around.

shit guys. everyone is generalizing all this crap about blacks and whites or whatever. the problem is all these characteristics that different races are automatically associated with, its impossible to make these huge generalizations about races and still have a valid argument.
BCShredder - you may have somewhat of a point but your argument isn´t valid in my book because of a whole bunch of stupid generalizations, and some unnneccesary racist remarks

I agree with the basis of your argument as you initially posted that if people want to be treated equally, then everyone should be treated equally.

However, you may well be able to hitch hike from vegas to where ever - but you are white. There are more than enough racists on the road that a black person would have alot of difficulties getting picked up. In fact, it's damn hard for anyone to hitch hike these days. People just aren't overly trusting. I drove by a guy trying to get to montreal (about 2 hours drive) on the main highway in my city on my way to school last year and he was still sitting there when I drove home that evening.

as it has already been said, i like black people, alot of black friends just because of where i grew up, but yet, i hate niggers.

and as for crime and such, we always blame the black guy for robbing someone, or shooting someone or whatever, but its ALWAYS the white guy who plants bombs in envelopes and says God told him to rape 45 children while eating their parents.

I'm not sure if I am more amazed by the fact that I took the time to read all the posts in this insane thread or by some of the things people have attempted to use as arguments. In a nutshell I have established that there are really two main factions here: those of you who are apparently not religious who by and large do not condone racism (and I mean actual racism not the brutal and savage acts of discrimination that you Christians no doubt have to endure every day), and then there are those who agree with the creator of this thread based on a lengthy list of overgeneralizations and rediculous notions such as the idea that black people are now on equal footing socially and financially due to the success of a few african americans (an INCREDIBLE minority)in the hip hop world and the NBA.

You claim not to condone racism but then go on to say that "blacks deserve it" and that any social problems blacks face are merely the end product of being lazy and unwilling to work hard to succeed. Although in certain cases that may be entirely true how can you possibly be so massively ignorant as to attempt to apply that scenario to an entire race, let alone use it to justify any racism that is ultimately directed towards blacks?

Blacks that show racism towards white? do deserve it, its just people goin both ways. And no I dont think all things are created by that, there are lots of blacks that are lazy and thats what puts them in that position. You know what. there are a lot of lazy whites too. But you don't see, "Poor whites" activists do you? not particularly. If someone works hard, they will almost always succeed.
