when i saw that tanner won i was like wtf simon dumont had much more style and amplitude than tanner and laurent did almost the half of his run in switch. the judges see tanner as a skiing god but i think that they should not continue to overrate him like this ( i aggree that tanner is a great skier but he didnt deserve the gold here.)
ha it was funny cause a kid in school was saying that simon should have won and he has never gone skiing and didnt think they were that good he was like holy shit thats crazy and now knows a few skiers....it was funny
yeha i so many kids asked me in school about tanner, hes def. the most known person to people outside of skiing, which kind of sucks in a way, but i think he deserved to win and im happy for him with his recovery and all that
ya true about his recovery but you have to take into account the fact the dumont rode with like what ever was wrong with his back, but like he was almost or even may have been in tears, so that was an impressive run to me because of the pain but the whole not grabbing his 10 and the touch must be taken into account. i think hall desreved first but i wanted simon in 2nd not 3rd
favre should have won without a doubt..his run was a def. progression and he stomped everything. His cork 7 was so fuckin smooth. God I hate judges so much
also, Laurent was so pumped for even second where as if Tanner would have gotten second he would have been pissed and cried about it for the rest of the night. Tanner is an amazing skier but i dont like where his heads at
yes switch tricks in pipe are insanely difficult and should be awarded but i dont want to start seein sloppy runs win just cuz the y had low amplitude switch tricks...
NOT THE CASE WITH FAVRE but i just dont want to see skiing go that direction...If ur goin swithc u need to keep amplitude and style...like favre and Andreas
I think Tanner won it, but not by as much as he did...
Amplitude, while the judges over rated it, I still think it was important. Stompage is a big thing too, and THall stomped almost every hit, and went almost as big..
Favre, while he did more switch stuff, it wasn't quite as clean.
If tanners big right wall hit where he was doing that truck driver was more tweaked, it would've been a hands down thing.
If hatveit didnt fall he wouldve won, if favre got more air and landed his switch 10 he wouldve won, but if dumont wasnt in the most pain of his life, he def wouldve won
Just one thing to say ....both tanner and Dumont didn't grab the 1080 plus dumont didn't grab is 9 and grab is boot on the alley opp 5. I was there so when you see the run in front of your eyes it's so much different.
i thot all contestants gave it there all and a good pipe sess came out of it
now that thats out of the way- Tanner shouldnt have won, dumont and schiller killed, true tanner is a god in most eyes but he didnt throw the steez the others did. and he didnt even throw down that cool of a final run after he had already won...one word...GAY
