Give it some time. There's alot of politics involved in judged sports. You know how many more people would be pissed if Tanner hadn't have won?
We wouldn't hear the end of it for months on end.
It was a good move on the judges part for the greater good of the Ski Gabber forum on newschoolers.com.

The thing of it is, no one's ever going to agree, but unlike last year, everyone but Jon got the respect they deserved (and Jon never gets respect at X), skiing wasn't slapped in the face, and we can all be happy that a good comp went down. So let's just stop complaining about results.

He only received his card for the super-pipe 7 days before the comp', trained only 4 days. How's that for an impression!
Unfortunately almost no mention of his 2nd place is made in the french media today! That sucks!

you mean by skiing the same fucking run he did last year, and not bringing any switch tricks into the arena...if tanner had thrown down switch tricks (and the judges would've given him first b/c of the sean white phenomenon) everyone would've been liek oh shit they gave hima good score b/c of his switch i gotta throw soem switch shit

tanners stock run is sick, but a little old now, lets call id sickly. I was a unimpressed that tanner only made 1 grab i could see, that was his first hit on the 540, and it was barely visible. Laurent made 3 or 4 grabs a couple of them being tweaked and precise.

it definitally wasnt more technically sound. how could it be more tech that laurent favre boosting way higher first hit and throwing switch tricks and still getting pretty high out for where he was in the pipe. i dont think he was even smoother that favre, he just went bigger throughout the pipe. i liked tanners run a lot and wasnt disappointed that favre lost just because of how stoked he was after his run. and i like tanner was doing it for cr.

did you see andereas haveit? im pretty sure that was the most progressive run, switch 10's and dropping in switch? now in my opinion, no matter who won gold that was obviously the most progressive run for the sport this year

You know, it's hard to actually call it between the two of them, because of Laurent being original and tossing in the switch tricks. But Tanner's runn was just a lot cleaner, more polished. Both had some things you could pick at if you put the runs under the microscope, but why bother? The podium went more or less the right way, and 1 or 2 points you might have given one way or the other for any rider can pretty much be summed up by personal preference.

tanners run was cleaner and more polished because he's done it so many times... it was the same run he did in the x-games last year. i still think he should have won but i wish he would've done a different run

tanner had to win though after the special they showed. they showed that damn thing like 4 times.
the xgames are not about progression kids, its like the olympics: they are about the drama or highly exploitable young atheletes.
all in all: favre won that shit by a mile. not as clean, but he skied that fuggin pipe 10 times better than thall.

LoLo's got plenty of time to win it, THall deserves it. I couldnt watch on tv, just the espn vids but it looks like everyone seriously stepped it up huge. dumont fucking sent it, which got him the win last year, tanner was smooth as fuck with good amplitude and laurent took it switch... i'm pretty stoked in general at the state skiing's at... as far as park comps go i suppose... or just pipe maybe.
