its southern mass man, you cant expect that much. especially when even the big mountains in VT arent doin that great for snow this year. but yea, wawa does pretty much suck
Agreed, the park has been getting better every year, but I did like the flow better last year...
This yeah seems to be much more chaotic.
I think it's because last year they had easier stuff to the left, which kept a lot of people over there and out of the way. (never mind the mini-park hasn't been up lately!)
This year there's hardly any features on the left (a C-rail and handrail, up/down box)
Everybody is hitting the first few rails (easiest) and getting in the way. There's kids all over the place and more often than not I end up getting snaked by the time I get to the first jump...
They also need to put a fence/gate up down the half-pipe entrance -it's amazing how many people just fly right into the pipe, c'mon people, call your drop!
And lastly, The big table is great, but please FIX the lip!
only twice this year has it been good, every other time it's great until the last foot or so where it abruptly kicks you up... now I don't mind a ramp that boosts you UP, but a smooth lip is key. (especially at the speeds needed to clear it)
the snowboard crew at wawa is sick. there all super friendly and so good. its the weekend adventure seekers who make the park a pain in the ass. i dont bother stoping if there in my way anymore. ill hit them and they can deal with it
i think i rode the lift with you a couple weeks ago.....it was the night after the snow search...you were in an instructors uniform and libertys....dont think there are that many instructors with libs....i was a mostly white helly jacket and blakc pants riding lines
so whoever said the wawa locals are "super friendly" must be their coke dealer.... are you serious dude... every time i went there this year with the exception of 1 or 2 times the locals have yelled at every one there, making fun of anyone that cant do the easier stuff, and even some of the more difficult stuff, its the most uncomfortable unfriendly environment there sometimes. this is coming from someone who has spent the past 3-4 years riding loon and waterville, two heavily local parks. i dont know what everyones problem at wacho is, i love going there, but hassling kids is lame. people need to be more for each other on the mountain, and if you dont like what someone is doing... shut the hell up because no one cares, you sucked too at one point and you probably did some stuff that someone else didnt like.
bottom line is that everyone needs to help each other out and keep a positive vibe. for something that we all love so much and work so hard at, its really sad to see a few people attempt to undermine it with negativity
with the exception of fucking around on this forum... i am rarely a dick to anyone, i think its so fucking stupid to be an asshole on the mountain because respect (hypothetically) gets respect. people being assholes on the hill is so ridiculous and unacceptable, yet at wachusett i often see this sort of attitude... believe me im not the only one who sees it.
hassling people just makes them not want to progress, for fear of being ridiculed if they dont succeed... and i wasnt even talking about my own experiences, just what ive witnessed people doing to other people... so id consider this a fairly unbiased opinion
