Did anyone else see this. It was really cool actually, They did a good job. It showed the footage of T getting broke off on Chad's gap and what happened afterwards which I've never seen. Tanner was like screaming you could tell he was hurt bad. It really made me realize how bad his injury was and how much it must have hurt. Then they kind of went through his rehab and stuff. It was very interesting. I didn't realize that he had such a long rehab. He was in a wheelchair then a walker, crutches, a cane, and then he had to learn to walk again. Poor guy. He's a tough kid for sure. I hope he makes his comeback complete with a win in Superpipe. For once ESPN got it right. They did a really good job with this little piece I was impressed.
He didn't have to learn to walk again, he didn't suffer any brain damage, he broke his heals. There's a big difference between suffering a brain injury and being confined to a wheel chair because of brain damage, and breaking your heels and being confined to a wheel chair because you broke some bones.
yea but i bet he lost almost all the strength in his legs making it a little hard to walk. he would then have to retrain all the muscels in his legs inorder to walk. how is that not learning how to walk again
The point he's making is relearning how to walk from a brain injury is like learning to walk for the first time again. Retraining muscles is a bit different, harder in a different way.
For everyone hating on ESPN, make sure you also post that you liked the piece on T-Hall, so they know what they are doing right.
how bout u all go out and shatter both ur heals and break both ur ankles at the same time and learn to walk on them again, THEN you can say its not all that bad, until then, STFU! Im sure Tanner went thru alot of retraining to get his leg strength back.
Also, one of my friends commented that tanner looks beefer in his face, my guess is that its because he sat on the couch for 3 monthes, anyone else notice that?
they are playing cr's story tonight sometime i know that forsure. they have like highlights of x at like 1 or 2 am and had an interview of tanner. this was sunday i htink. he talked about his and crs injury. after the interview they said they were having a special on crs injury and recovery
Ok it was a wreck/ I have broken more bones then tanner in a single wreck and most people don't even remember it happened. Who cares. Its all this media shit hypin people. Tanner hall sat down there by the camera the whole day and had 2 video cameras on his face NON STOP. He even has his own personal filmer right now. That follows him everywhere that he hired. As for CR Johnson, HE IS FINE PEOPLE, He had a bad accident, My little sister has had Therapy again to get back on track with BASKETBALL, and hitting her head on the floor. I mean it was brutal and gnarly, but its not like he is having problems now, he was up and walking around like a normal person. When the last thing the media said was that he was in intense therapy learning to walk and talk agan/ what is that? such BS, they are normal people. Quite hyping them.
Come on man, breaking the ankle is probably the shittiest place to break, as far as recovery for skiing would go, besides like your back or something. And breaking both would be worse.
He's come back pretty fast and deserves some credit. Of course their inguries get more attention because they're pro, but thats no reason to say it isnt a bad injury.
buddy CR couldnt even feed himself. Believe me hes not fine and most def. will be dealing with the effects of serious head trauma for along time. He had a BRAIN INJURY. It wasnt your run of the mill concussion.
listen dipshit...ok so if you have to muscle in your arms cause your weak and you go to the gym to work on your arms...Is that called learning. NO its called working out. He already knows how to walk he just has to work the strength back into his legs not Learn the strenght. MORON! Oh and I hate Tanner.
And what is up with them and tanner? wathcing last years x-games vid makes me think "what, their in love with tanner or what?" it's tanner this and tanner that. when they are introducing other skiers they showed tanner hall shaking his head to rap music! and everytime a good trick was done they somehow turned it into tanner hall.
okay no1 can hate on espn, espn has made sports what it is today it has made sports easier to follow and watch and like and you should be thankful they show skiing once a year cuz we r the only ones that even enjoy watching skiing no1 else
To be completely honest? YUP Except tanner didn['t have a 230 pound bike land on him as well. and I was goin more like 70. And it wasn't a gap either. but about the same amplitude.
um, you don't have to learn you just need to heal. And really I wouldn't doubt he is chubbier in the face because he can't smoke pot with regular hosital visits, and party up all night. He is probably healthier now.
Getting hurt is tough for anyone, especially if your tanner and your life completely revolves around skiing. The show was a good human interest story and was also entertaining (not in a funny ha ha way). The segment was good for skiing because it showed a lot of backcountry stuff including tanner sticking the sw 900.
when i said lost the strength in his legs i ment all the muscels like the ones that allow you to balance. i know its not like o shit i forgot how to walk. so yea you are right he just has to go to a gym and work out his balance....
