WINDHAM PRESS RELEASE ON FUTURE PLANS

windham mountain in the castkill has released its slated improvements for the next season. After being sold it seems to me that the new owners are not holding back on their promise of a better future.
stated plans:
New High speed lift (4 or 6 person) up the east peak, The current place of the G lift will be slightly repositioned to compensate for the traffic change.
Replacement of C lift (Park Lift) C lift will be repositioned and be replaced with a faster newer lift as C lift is the oldest lift on the Hill.
2 New Trails: Pending environmental improvement 2 new trails will be blazed. Theses new trails will open the Cave mountain bowl to skiing for the first time in the resorts history. This bowl is in bettween the east and west peak, and will be serviced by the new Highspeed lift.

Any opinions or outlooks?
Will windham become an eastern superpower as some predict?

I think it sounds great! But if they are going to put $ in to the mtn, they need to fix their lift ticket scanning process. The scanning guns never work so they have to try like 3 or 4 x's before you can get through. Also the liftee's wait until you are at the front of the line instead of scanning you as soon as you get on line and it completely hold up the line. I know some newschoolers work there so you should spread the word to who ever you work for because compared the other local mtn windham's scanning process sucks!!!

yea we have spread the word, but it doesn't seem to get through there heads. and for the ticket, just make sure its flat and dry, it should work then the first time, unless the liftie is retarded. but most of them are cool

that sounds like a lot to do before next season. it will definately make the mountain more challenging and exciting. bowl skiing at windham sounds real sweet

its not gonna be a wide open bowl, they are just cutting two trails. but nevertheless it will still be a great addition, and they have also planned alot more things to happen which hasn't been publicaly released yet. windham is def going in the right direction

It somewhat confuses me to think that the new quad is going to be on G lift. Yeah, it does get somewhat crowded there on weekends but sometimes I'm amazed to see there are like 5 people in line while there are hundreds of people waiting to take the quad. It would be hilarious if F lift (the old triple that runs parallel to the quad) was taken out and replaced w/ a quad so there would be dual high speed lifts running...hahaha. Although it would be nice if one was for racers and lessons and the other was strictly for the public. Its always frusterating to see the Race team get to cut the line 4 times before you get one run. I've been helping out w/ the adaptive sports foundation for 4 years and it figures they decide to do the expansion the year I go to college.

you don't need much money to do that, especially if you already have all the equipment to do it

hahah ya the trails may be cheap, but a new lift and moveing another, is no cheap bussiness. But we never had a superpipe, and chances are one is not in the outlook any time soon, but who knows

yea, i agree, ours sucks and just wastes snow, a larger jib park should be set up there instead. one that is actualy set up with flow, not the tight 6 pack they had off to the side.
