So I am a little bit behind on the TBC discussions because I just got the video yesterday. So, sorry about creating another thread on TBC. I just had to say though that Brandon Beckers part is the sicket segment I have ever seen. I don't know if it is the song, or his style or both, but I just can't get enough of it. The way he throws his tricks is absolutely awesome in my eyes. I don't even watch the whole movie anymore I just play Brandon Beckers part once...or twice and then turn it off. So cheers to Brandon for the sick skiiing and keeping me motivated. You the man!
yea i liked it a lot too... it really gets you pumped up for the movie but after that i was kind of let down. I think because in Becker's segment I could actually understand what song artist was saying and it wasnt random foreign music crap that i have no idea what they are saying.
His part was weak. He misses every single grab he attempts. Look closely at how much he flails his arms around in the air. They use waaaaaaaay too much slow motion to make it look smoother.
^^Dude you're crazy...Becker is the man and he's pushing his own style instead of watching all the videos and then spending a year trying to copy what all the other pros did the year before. Also, he held his grab for soooo long on the step down 9 he did. Respect.
He has great style for sure, really compact, but he does miss a bunch of grabs over the superpipe and others. The flailing is on a no-grab 180 over flagstaff or some other gap, the rest of his body is smooth so it's cool.
Anyone notice how smooth John Symms stomps a 540 over the superpipe in TBC? Perfect landing.
^^Yeah, he doesn't grab on the 180, but he also wasn't trying to on that. A 180 over flagstaff is super gnar. That jump has one of the sketchtiest inruns in the gap scene. You make a hard right at like 40mph seconds before entering the point of no return on a snow bridge across a gully right before the take off. I think Brandon will just keep getting better as he gets more experience.
I also think he switch seven over the pipe destroys tanners 9s over Chads, and the inrun is just as fast...but it could just be me...any thoughts?
That is what makes his style sick, it isn't perfect but who gives a shit. I was just watching the X-Games best trick. What a crock of shit that was, I am really starting to hate the same old style that everyone has. Becker does his own thing, and that is what makes him the man.
anyone talkin shit about the douBBle-B-nuts is fuckin clown shoes, or you're just some piece of shit skier who probably seriously likes mougles and g-suits...for one i grew up wit this kid, we've been best friends since little league soccer...his style is his art a form of expression, he doesn't grab all the time on purpose, think about how much harder it is to throwdown and make it look ill-smooth without grabbing(or maybe thats to vast of a concept for fags who still think iron crosses are dope). Granted he bleeds for skiing and it is his lively hood, but one of his favorite riders is MFM and a hand full of mostly skaters and snowboarders. he didn't grow up and still doesn't watch ski videos or ski mags, this kid is a snowboarder/skateboarder at heart who was given two pieces wood. and rails are more or less a joke to him unless its on a skateboard. his part in teddy bear was dope but thats not his homestyle of riding, we grew up in shredding in the idaho backcountry only pow, cliffs, chump bumps, and an occasional booter. plus his whole segment was filmed from the end of march to the begining of june(not pow season) TBC was not justifiable showing of my homie. So to all you haters out there suck a dick cause you're probably from the east coast and don't know shit about snow...
Sick part, but I listen to that song way too much and i still can't understand what they're (the GO! Team) saying and by the way the song is called huddle formation.
