Today Target announced that they will begin sponsoring Simon Dumont. Good for Simon and good for Target.

Now why is it when Simon signs on with Target, people think its cool cause he's making bank. When Mosley realized he was on the was out he started taking all the cash he could get(which I personally think was smart as hell), and people bash him more then anyone else.

THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our sport is going to get so much more publicity. People are going to finally realize that skiing is just as cool if not cooler than boarding. Cause we all know its a lot more technical. The simple fact the have one big thing to worry about. We have 2 little things to worry about.

That's because Moseley had a great thing in skiing, he progressed it awsome. But then he went on MTV (for whatever personal reasons) and he did basically sell out. He still wore a beanie and t-shirts with a skier on them and still was marking himself as a pro skier even though he clearly wasn't. He marketed his gold medals over and over again still years after the fact that he retired competing. Basically Johnny had no passsion for the sport and made it seem like he sold the sport of skiing for money.

This is a positive step for our sport getting recognition on a larger scale. The man in charge of Target Sports Marketing is a former K2 intern as well as a former High North employee. He knows what is up.
