I just got Dynastar Troublemakers '05 that I still haven't even used. I've been reading a lot about how the edges will blow out on rails but besides that they are fine. Does anyone have any input on the hype about the edges or does anyone have any experience with them?
mount that shit up and let em fly! really, great skis for bumps, trees, steeps, and park. not the powder ski you've been looking for, but what d'ya expect??? the edges are a little softer than many of the other skis out there, but every edge is going to break on rails sooner or later....
i had the 03-04 TMs, which was the first year of Tms, and i broke the edges after 13 days on snow, i had noticed cracks after 11, and dynastar would not warrenty them because i had got them the on a spring sale, then skied them for a couple days before the end of the season, then broke the edges in the first two weeks back the next season. i loved the ski but was severely disapointed by the durability of the edges. they may have improved this problem over the last couple years, though i have seen nothing saying it. also i'd like to note that the way it broke was 4 inches of edge jabbing throught the base and into the core.
yo my friend bought a pair and when he does a rail you jsut cringe, after the first day your going to be like wow these edges are shit but after 20 days so far my friends edges are fine.
AMAZING ski. if your a pipe/jump man its deffinitly for you.
i used mmy laroses for a year straight without any edge problems, and i hit a lot of rails. This year they are finally comming off, like any ski would...
the edges have held up about equal to my fujatives, just so you have some comparison, same hill, same fetures, pretty much same amoutn of rails. TMs have 3 cracks but one is worse, fujas have 4 cracked and one bent in edge that was repaired. None of the edges have fallen out yet. Every ski falls apart on rails.
