my dad is looking into buying some rails to add a rail jam to his race program deal what would be a good site for him to either find what he wants spicificly or get a decent priced 20 foot flat rail and some decent priced kinked rails
kabrails I think their site is kabrails.com I know they build rails for every resort in utah from Park City to Alta, they are the bomb, and they will build whatever you want
MOETECH INC is your man
We are in Central ny but if you check the link in my profile that is some of the stuff we built for our backyard park and we built a 20 foot flat bar, 10-20 flat down, 10-10-10 fdf and a 24 foot flat box for our local resort all out of 2x2 and 6 inch flatbar tubing. Let us know, I can put you into contact with him and he can get you some prices.
exactly, ordering rails online is okay but shipping it is a pain and most companies are out west. Best idea would be goto a local metal shop with some plans and let them do it.
i got a dooope rail made by a local welder, fuckin perfect, and it was like 150 bucks. its 3 feet tall, 15 feet long, double barrel. even cheaper for single barral or flatbar
We were talking pricing and for a 6inch flatbar that is 3 feet high, 20 feet long with plywood skirting it comes out to about $750... Thats what he quoted me as he's the one that welded up all the rails for our local hill. Keep in mind this isn't your average backyard rail, this is the same as you would see anywhere else
KAB rails gets $35 a foot for modest designs/flat rails, Im not sure if that is double barrel, or single barrel or flat stock. The more kinks, the more curves, the higher the price as the more you need to work it and weld it. The rails we have at our local resort are as professional as I've seen on the east coast and they've not required maintnance since building them prior to last season. We ideally like to do business and build everything over the summer/fall, prior to an upcoming season...
35 dollars a foot is per foot of finished rail, not 35 dollars per foot of material... so if you order a 20 foot flatbar, its roughly 4-500 dollars of material... and yes it is that much, and then labor costs, welding is a skilled profession, it isn't unskilled labor buddy
You couldnt build a 20 foot flatbar out of all wood for 4 dollars a foot, thats 80 dollars, do you know what a sheet of CDX plywood costs these days? Atleast 25 dollars I am thinking, then paint to paint it, your looken at 40 bucks just for skirting a 16 foot rail if you make the skirt 2 feet tall, learn the numbers then tell me Im ludicrous
lol... build me a rail like I have posted in my pictures... 20 foot flatbar with skirting for 80 dollars... better yet... google the costs of HDPE or HDPC and see how much a sheet would cost that probably wouldnt be enough for a 20 foot box... oh... and quit talking about building rails and go build them already... all you need is 50 bucks right?
