yea, pink floyd is the greatest music of the 20th century BAR NONE. Listening to them is really more of an auditory experiance then just music. Also, dark side of the moon was more of an exploratory endevor into the relationship of sound and the psyche continuing the path of meddle and echoes, the last track on the afforementioned album. WYWH is a tribut to syd, and the wall is about how a musician lost control of reality from the rock and roll lifestyle and essentially had a mental breakdown due to the wall created by him, his mother, and society.
also, fearless is a great song, everyone should listen to it once.
ugh, syd died. Like, recently. like this summer 2006 from diabetes. rip. Their shit is so deep. Once you think you understand their albums, some new idea comes out. To me the wall is about ignorance and censorship. darkside of the moon is about life and its uncomprhensibility. truley inspiring. I love listening to darkside on a plane.
i dont like when all uneducated people relate pink floyd with drugs, like its all their music is good for is listening too while you are high or tripping.. to me these people just dont understand how mind blowing and amazing the music really is. if you cant listen to it unless your on drugs you really need to educate your self, and im sure the people i am speaking of are going to quote this reply and go off on how they were on drugs when they made the music and its sooo trippy, which makes my point that they dont understand and probably never will because they are that self rightous, the same people that say which band members have always "hated" one another, this is just not what the music is about
