I've been noticing a big trend lately on the forums. A lot of people bitching about Freeskiing getting recognition.
Can someone please explain the benefits of the sport staying small?
Here is my argument for the positives of exposure...
Mainstream exposure means the sport gets more money. Not just athletes, but the whole industry. More twin-tip sales means more investment money available for R&D to make your skis, sicker.
And as for the overpopulation of terrain parks. I honestly don't think it will be an issue. We are participating in a sport that takes a higher level of skill. While there my be some people who will buy twin-tips and putz around on small stuff. I really don't think it will impact the core of the sport one bit.
Are some skiers really caught up in the image so much that all they care about is being one of the few twintip skiers?
