Snowboard Cross in olympics

Anyone else notice that this lame ass race is in the olympics? This shit is getting more and more frustrating. No skiing half-pipe but this race? My brother and I watched these races in tv the other day (getting aired instead of my Freeskiing US Open) and they're probably the slowest and most boring races Ive ever seen. The summer olympics even has speed walking, but the winter ones dont have halfpipe... wow.

Nevertheless, my point is the sport is slow, uneventful, and lame. Halfpipe would get far more publicity than something like the skiers long jump, so i still dont know what's holding them back (besides the fact that everytime there's a halfpipe comp people bitch about the judging)

What's holding them back is the fact that the ski industry does not support the World Cup halfpipe events. ie; no ski companies send their pros to the events, so the events are still not very well attended.
Like it or not FIS is the only organization that has the power to put halfpipe in the Olympics, and if their World Cup tour doesn't succeed, then they will never lobby the IOC to get ski pipe in.
Snowboard Cross has a successful WC tour, that is why FIS put it in. It's not about what makes sense, it's about politics.
