most people think they are a style, but really they are 'rayban aviators'. aviators were first made in 1937 and their success was so big that they decided to start a company called rayban. mine are pretty cool...they are from the early 80s and they are mint...they are great to fly in and the only reason my friends dont give me shit is because i am a pilot...otherwise they said they would make fun of me.

ye, i'll bet they're great for flying. they're all big and shit. my dad has his pilot license and i want to get mine, but he almost died a few times when he was flying, so he won't let me get my ground school yet.

well his co-pilot went to get something out of the back and he somehow disconnected the artificial horizon when he moved. it was a really foggy day and they were flying up above the mountains and he couldn't see for shit. so he had no idea where he was going, what pitch he was at, nothing. he couldn't really do anything cause if he pulled up he might have gone into a stall, and if he turned he oculd have turned into the mountain side. so all he could do was ride it out. he ended up flying out of the clouds and everything was alright.

another time he was going in for landing and i guess he came in too steep and busted off the landing gear. that one wasn't bad at all though, just a little misjudgement.

he and 2 of his buddies owned a piper cherokee. he sold it when i was born

yeah IFR isnt too easy without your horizon indicator, lol. you can still survive though with your other instruments if that happens.
i mostly fly a supercub, but i smoked a deer once on our runway with our piper aztec...that was interesting.
