Any advise on how to learn jumping on the parks

I will be in Breckenridge;Keystone and Vail for the next 02 weeks and last year I started trying to do some jumps but I did not have the correct ski equip.
Now I do have it and I will be trying it again... hehhehe.
Does anybody have some advise on how should I practice regular jumps?
Last year I was loosing control on landing. Should I keep trying on the big ones or it's to risk? I was thinking on trying to come fakie and turn it 180 as it seems not so difficult as I run fakie pretty well.
Not sure if my ankle will be a nightmare this year as I've ijured "twisted" pretty bad last year.
But anyway I will not give up, I will try it again this year.

I wouldnt hit a jump switch before you learn how to hit jumps regular if that is what you are trying say. And I'd learn 360s before switch 1s. But that i sjust me

I do have a pair of Rossi Scratchs and I'm just trying to go to the basics, don't want to do something stupid and get myself at the hospital.

^ Why is he on this site? Because he wants to get into freeskiing and everything it is about.
I only started skiing 3 to 4 weeks ago and I'm on the site and getting into the freeskiing culture. We all start somewhere.
Granted though I didn't need to ask that type of question because it is pretty self explanitory.
Week 1 and 2 learned how to ski parallel and control your skis, week three ventured in the park picked a mid-size jump, 1) do it a couple of times to learn how to pop of and land. 2) try throwing in a couple of grabs to get a fell of controlling your body in the air. 3) Try to throw 180's or 360's depending on you confort level skiing/landing switch. After a couple hours in the park you should be able to land a 180 if you have good balance and the balls to go for it. (Note and ugly 180 with little style none the less.)

If you are really comfortable skiing switch you can do switch 180's pretty easily. I suggest trying of a roller/small jump just to get the feeling of taking off switch, as some people lean too far forwards (toward tips).
For bigger jumps just do straight airs and focus on staying stable and confident. Have your weight centered so you can land clean and don't lean back. Try to keep your hands/body quiet in the air instead of flailing around.
Other than that just keep trying, you'll get it.

for swith 1s and 180s just do them on the floor to get the feel of them, and then slow them down for jumps, thats what i did when i started, and always spot your landing so you land aligned with the landing

as your approaching the jump put some pressure on the front of your foot and when your coming to the lip pop off it with you heel level out in air stay maintained dont wae your arms then stomp your landing not to soon or you'll hyperextend and i'm sure theres alot of people on here you can talk to about how bad that hurt i'll testify it SUCKS

When you start steeping up to the bigger stuff remeber- It hurts more to case then it does to clear it and fall, uless you take a really bad fall. Or maybe it only works that way for me, but I'd rather land on a slope and eat shit I do it all the time.

The only way to learn to jump is to balls it and fall a couple of times.

hit the smaller jumps in the park first, just ride off em, dont pop off yet. just get air and try to clear em for a few hours, when you land its key to bend your knees a little bit, last season i didnt absorb at all and i was in pain for a few days after. this year i started bending more and got more comfortable with jumps, dont bend too much or else you'll land backseat. after a little when your comfortable, start popping off and maybe tucking your legs, when you get comfortable with that go for a little mute or any other grab. idk if this will work for you but it worked pretty well for me.

man you're a fucking tool. this is a website where skiers meet to talk about skiing. you dont need to earn the right to be here but if it were that way you, my friend, would not be welcome.
anyways as was said by some people start with small jumps, aproach with feel stable about shoulder width apart and knees bent. as you approach the lip stand up straighter, this 'pops' you into the air. keep practicing and ull get the feel for it.

if you can ski well straight airs on jumps should be no problem at all after just a few hits, make sure youve got skills outside the park first then start hitting jumps, start small with 180s, do them a ton, and do em down the trails, off rollers, off anything u see, this way you get really comfortable with landing switch which will be good later, and you can start spinning, just increase your wind up some and start goin for 3's then 5's and so on, remember your body will follow your head, always.

i suck at jumps too, the best i can do is a 360 so im not sure i can give out advice but wat works for my, is not to bail out at the end. if your going to do it just do it, dont start snowplowing unless you have to slow down to make a landing
