There's tons more skis out there than skiboards, obviously, so there are some major choices to make. What kind of ski are you looking for? Like anewmorning said, Line skis (www.lineski.com, sold online at www.getboards.com) are possibly the best skis for a transition from skiboarding- they have some short models, and are absolutely sick in the park and pipe. On the other hand, if you want the dependability of the big companies, Rossignol, Dynastar and Salomon all have great models. My advice would be, think hard about what you want and how much you're willing to spend- you can find a cheap, used pair of twins on this site if that's what you want. Find out what you want, demo some different skis, try to get the feel for them. Carvers or floaters? Stiff or soft? Long or short? High twin, low twin... no twin at all? Light or heavy? All of these need to be addressed.
