I got a pair of seth vicious this season and i had them mounted 1.5cm up from the midsole. I figured that I already had a pair of park skis mounted center so why not have a ski more traditionally mounted for more all mountain skiing. However I broke them this weekend and K2 is sending me a knew pair and I cant decide whether to do the same thing or just to mount them center. I liked the rear mounted set-up.. but it just didnt feel good skiing fakie or spinning... Any advice?
I'd try slightly forward from where you had them if you want to be able to spin better, there's no reason to ruin a good all-mountain ski by centering it.
The difference in balanced swing weight is minimal. Maybe some might beg to differ, but how much does 3 cm's make to how the ski feels in the air? Small dif.
How different does 3 cm's make an all mountain ski feel on sheer ice, or anywhere outside the park for that matter? Big dif.
I dunno...sounded like they worked well before, and if it ain't broke...
i had the same thing going on. i had a pair of centermounted park skis and wanted the vicious for skiing powder. i didn't want to mount at recommended because i wanted to be able to ski switch, spin off cliffs, and stomp tricks switch in pow. i didn't want to mount too far forward because i didn't want any tip dive.
if you have 189's, mount them at +5. if you have 179's or 169's, mount them at +4. that mount was perfect for what i wanted to be doing on the 189s and 179s.
