ya so i was skiing with my ipod and at some point it broke. well not really. the screen got smashed. it still plays music but you cant see anything on the screen. i got the three year warranty at future shop and was wondering if it will cover the broken screen because it was cleary done by force.
take it to an apple store they warnty every thing. i broke some wires in mine because i was changing the battery and they didnt even ask, just went in the back and got me a new one.
As far as I know, the future shop warranty DOES cover damage by force. The only thing they do not cover is water damage, like if you jumped in a pool with the ipod in your pocket and didnt realize it was there. Tell them your story and I think they will give you one. Thats what warranties are for right?
within the first year u purchased it they send it back to apple and they are supposed to replace it so i think it would be up to apple's discretion..after the first year warrenty is up with apple then future show does the exchange thing
Nope. I shattered my screen about a year ago. It had 4 of those black lines from the acid or whatever, and I couldn't see anything on the screen. It happened to you, so you know what I mean. I called apple, and talked to about 3 different people. they said send it in. So I mailed it to apple, very happy that my iPod would be fixed. They sent it back 2 weeks later, still broken. I was pissed. I left it like that for a while, but ended up not using it at all, cause it was a pain in the ass. I finally decided to get it fixed. I used ipodmods.com They can either send you a screen to put in yourself, or you can send it to them. I recommend sending it in, cause if you do it yourself, you'll probably fuck it up for life. Send it in when you get the $$, and they'll fix it for you.
Ouch, sorry to hear that they didn't do anything about it. They were supposed to make you fill out a form first... you might have said a little too much =(
I geuss your only option now is getting it repaired.
Try to write down the info that apple tells you about what they can do with it, bring it back to future shop with the recept, box and whatever... that might work good.
