does ne one recommend any of these skis the volkl gotama line mothership or armada arv.....i heard rumor the motherships and arvs are too flexible and im about 6'2 and 165 pounds and want something somewhat stable
yes, the Gotama is jumping out of the class of the other two. It is more backcountry specific. The other two have slightly better sidecuts and are a little smaller in the waist. Then you have to determine MoShip vs ARV, which is soft vs medium stiff (the ARV being super soft). Your call
i've been out 16ish days so far this year and i've ridden my arv's in every condition (all 16 days). I'm 6'2" about 190 ish. They ruled in the pow we had in tahoe last weekend they are great on groomers, in the park, and almost everywhere. The only place they don't handle very well is charging on really hard or icy runs. In my opinion they are definitely a one ski quivver. I'm really happy with them and would buy another pair in a second. I've never ridden the flites or the gotamas but after riding the ARV's i have no desire to.
i have nothign to add to this post other than the fact that you're a pretty skinny kid and make me feel extremely huge for my height. I'm 5'8" and weigh like.. 5-10 pounds less than you, crazy.
I sell armada, but I have never tried Gotama so I can't say for sure. As you write, the arv's are pretty soft. I'm 188 cm and about 90 kg's, but I don't feel that the armadas are too soft. Still, I would rather ride my Armada ANT instead of those ARV's in backcountry. But in an allroundski ARV kicks ass. I got AR5 myself, and I love them. I don't ride that much offpiste though.
