im looking for a good fisheye lense for my vx1000, the only one i found so far that looks good it the raynox mx3000, does anyone know of something better, or is that good enough?
Raynox MX3000: Not much distortion, farely decent fisheye, lose minimal quality, can't tell on a TV anyways, you can widen it to be about the same width as a Century MKII. I have one for my VX2000 and it has pleased me well, probably your best bet for skiing if you don't want much distortion. It has a 58mm thread so you would have to purchase a 52mm > 58mm stepup ring. I'd reccomend getting it if you aren't planning on blowing like $800.
MKI (Death Lens): This is the fisheye of choice for skateboarding. Probably your widest option...it has vignetting on the computer but not on a TV. Apparently you lose no quality too, so that is a plus. If you have the $800 or so to spend on a fisheye and you would like something that is very wide, this is the fisheye to get...
Distortion isn't necessarely a good thing at all though...do you know what it means? It means it will warp the image to make it all round and blurry at the corners. If fisheyes were "perfect", they would have no distortion at all. I can make a long lens vs. MX3000 picture for you if you want.
