Question about pretzels

i checked the search bar and it said its when u spin on way one and the other way off which makes sense, but if u did like a switch up the opposite way that u spun on is that called a pretzel too?

i still have so much trouble with them. how do you stop your stupid rotation. like most of the time i can go 270 to switch but is it easier to hit it slower?

For me, switch ups are either blindside or frontside (as long as they are only a 180 switch) they are pretty self explanatory, any more spin than a 180 I would use the danish/pretzel lingo

dont pop so hard, and angle your skis so the edges grab a bit, and you wont spin. the hardest part is spinning the opposite way fast enough.

left side 270 to right side switchup!? that alone sounds death defyingly hard.

switch left 270 to right side switch up sounds a lot easier to me.

i just got sw on to bs 270 out, pretty tough. havent stepped up to 270 on yet though. shit's tech...any tips on how to on rails?

rotate your shoulders alot before you pop so you can just look at the rail while your skis come around....

didnt anyone watch the killington rail jam video? every trick talked about in this thread got thrown on to an urban down.

ahmet claimed the pretzel switchup as the "silly" switch up as he was first to prove he did it.

the pretzel is hard because you have to spin both ways comfortably, using your edges to redirect the spin will help but i found doing unnat. 270 on was easy to blind out of naturally.

180 and twist, that way you don't keep rotating while on the rail and it looks wayyy sicker. the other thing is when I 270 on I usually look down during the spin then when I hit the rail i slowly get my head going toward the end of the rail
