hate on salomon all you guys want. i have guns and ride foils as well. absoultly love the skis. guns are a little stiffer in the tail but aren't bad. foils are just an amazing all around ski. good for park, good for all mountain, good for pow. i think all the salomon hating is because they are a big company and not as "core" as say a line or armada. how many line delams have we had threads about?
yo, dude, I am looking at the foils as well, I was wondering how much you are looking at paying.
I have never skied them, but the people who have seem to like them...accually seem to love them as a do everything ski. THe people who bash them seem to do so when they haven't ridden them, they do it because of the stigma everyone has against Salomon. I think they are a solid ski.
im not going to get into a dispute on salomons or line or anything else. all ski companies have their problems. i just think all the hating is because salomon has a foam core and is a major ski company. i would tend to believe that "if" a "core" company went with a foam core you all would be talking shit about wood.
i demoed the foils this year and loved them but i know they're a little pricier yet i don't want to spend the extra cash if they're gonna break down in a year, otherwise i'd go with something cheaper
i had salomon spaceframe 720's and they were real soft but i rode them hard for 2 years and never broke. i test rodde the foils this year and they were a lot stiffer. i liked them. i just bought some fujatives, they comin in mail so i havent rode them yet.
I demoed the Foils down in Vermont a little while back and I have nothing but good to say about them, they really bit into the icy sections which I liked.
you wouldn know fool, you don't ride em, the foam core does break down, they don't expect kids to ride as much as we do now... and if ur a kid like me who works at a "resort" and ride almost everyday and vacation, that foam core is toast at the end of a season, becasue i know that u can kill the pop even in a wood core if u ride hard for a full season
The last pair of 1080s I had delaminated after two days, sent them back got another year they held up pretty good except foam Shit came out from the edges. A ski with a wood core is much more durable, like K2s or Heads
