Alright, what is the mountain to be at around Tahoe? I'm not real concerned with park; mostly snowfall and sick terrain, cliffs etc.

Also what are the sled-access backcountry options?

SQUAWLYWOOD. if you dont want to break the wallet Alpine. and if your willing to drive about 2 hours Kirkwood. For most likley to get snow Rose, but it doesnt have great terrain.

I beg to differ...

The chutes offer some seriously steep pitch, 55 degrees in alot of places.

Sure its not ridden with rocks and natural hits, but its GNAR.

And besides the chutes, theres tons of other places to find steep pitch.

I plan on living at the mountain, so driving anywhere shouldnt be an issue....if i bring my sled is there good backcountry to be accessed? or is it not worth bringing a sled? whats the deal......

dude bringing your sled would be the best decision you ever made.....takeing me with you on it would be an equally good decision. You'll have access to some of the sickest terrain in Tahoe for sure.

Snowmobile skiing in Tahoe can be tricky, options are definately not endless. Theres a lot of wilderness around the basin. Theres a couple of good places that are pretty good though. If you come here and bring your sled hit me up and I'll show you a couple spots

alpine is the all time best any way you look at they have the least amount of shoobs=shortest lines and less tracks. if you know were to go you can get freshies all day long squaw get tracked out like 2 hours after it opens if you can find a parking spot within 20 miles

the chutes are fun dont get me wrong. last year during that huge storm set i went up and got first tracks down one of em and it was the best single pow run i had all year. wat i was saying was that it doesnt compare to squaw's terrain. wen i said it doesnt have much terrain i meant in cliffs and tiny little straight lines that you can barley fit in cuz thats wat i like to ski. mt rose is also a lot cheaper and i like how it has just one lodge so you can ditch ur stuff without forgeting wat building it is in like at the village. alpine only has one also and a very nice day locker area if you want to lock ur stuff up

Hey you should ride sierra at tahoe, if you go to the right places it is really good and they just opened the backcountry there so try it out.

God its fun tho. The first run I took down the El Cap chute... man...

that was haiiiiry.

60 degree pitch and LONNNG.

Fuckin sick.. just FUCKING SICK.
