well i wrote RCR and told them how gay the new parks were etc all the stuff we talk about on here and heres what they wrote back:
Hi Ben,
Thank you for contacting us here at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. While my somewhat late response may indicate otherwise, we do appreciate your feedback and interest. An in-depth assessment of our terrain parks with respect to usage and safety was undertaken prior to opening this season. Based on our findings and substantial feedback from our guests, we concluded that our Terrain Parks, whilst popular with a number of our guests, were too advanced for the majority of our guests and thus limiting in terms of usage. As you can appreciate, the building, operation and ongoing maintenance of a Terrain Park requires considerable investment. This investment becomes difficult to justify if the majority of guests don't use it. In an effort to appeal to a wider audience, we have reduced the size of our features. Going forward the future of the terrain park program is under continual review. We value and welcome your comments as part of this process. Thank you again for taking the time to write to us.

I was directed to this thread, so...
Wow. That, for lack of a better word, sucks. But you know you're not going to convince them, right? The problem with jib culture or whatever you want to call it is that to anyone who isn't involved in it, it doesn't make practical, financial, or just about any other kind of sense. These people look at us with a complete lack of comprehension and go "well, whatever they want to do on snow is their business as long as it makes us money". But their spreadsheets say it isn't anymore, so jibbers can basically go fuck themselves. They won't be swayed by anything but dollar signs, and there's pretty much no way you can make a pro park look financially good unless Lake Louise has a shot at being Park City, which it seems to me it neither wants nor has potential to be, really. So basically, you guys got F'd in the A by the man and it's not going to change unless the cash inflow says it should.
That said, they may or may not have some sort of suggestion box somewhere on the mountain. Those little slips of paper usually go directly to management. If everyone were to submit one every time they went up, and got others to do likewise, that would at least get some attention. I'd be surprised if emails got you anything more than irritating faux-polite form replies.
You also might try writing an editorial in a paper somewhere that they'd notice.

So, this is what I got back from RCR....
Dear Ben,
Thank you for contacting Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. I have forwarded
your email to Robin Siggers, the Mountain Manager at Fernie as I feel he is
much more qualified to provide a response. I am leaving shortly for
vacation and will return on the 6th of February, whereby, I will follow-up
with Robin and confirm our response. Thank you for your patience.

I am not sure if I should beleive it or not that my letter will be read or even sent in to Mr Siggers, but it seemed like an alright of a response. It is a little bunk though, that apparently I may not get a response til sometime is February, but I dont know. Has anyone else said that their email would go to Mr. Siggers? If so, what did they get back from him?

somebody should edit and send my post in here to who ever it needs to go to...im too lazy to put in that much effort...elaborate upon such things as comps, advertisement, the wholw idea of having one main "pro" park at one of the hills etc etc...Sim is right, without addressing it from a business point of view it won't go anywhere
