so i have a friend who is wanting to learn cork, so today he gets out on the resort and asks around on how to start the rotation he goes for it and misty 5's and now every time its a misty and no matter how he trys throwin it he goes in to that misty is there any way to correct this or what to tell him? is he pulling his left shoulder back to far (he spins to the left) or is he doing something wrong in bringing his right arm down
ok don't get pissed right away, i just want to say this to make sure we are on the same page. A misty is thrown down/foward and to the left, while a cork is thrown back/under the shoulder and to the left.
You say that no matter what he does he ends up going into a misty. This is probably a commitment problem. Since his first few attempts sounded like they went ok, then his body is trying to resort to go in the same direction as before. The main problem he may be having is that he might be trying to use his arms to throw down and to the left, while his hips are still trying to rotate foward and to the left. The for all spins the hips are going to be the focal part of the spin. Your friend is going ot want to use his hips to set, and continue the spin, and NOT the arms.
