Ditch Chronics get Karmas?

Hey guys, I just got a job that is netting me a bit of money, which is a freedom I haven't had in a while, so I'm looking for a new pair of boards. I have 04/05 Gold Chronics that are fun skis but I am looking for something a little wider for more powder, maybe stiffer, something I can ski all mountain with and still get decent park performance. Also durable, so I can do rails without worrying.
I guess my question is this: Is it worth paying 400 for Karmas(I get a 40% discount), and selling my Chronics? Is the performance going to be worth the net cost(I don't know what I could get for my Chronics). What do you guys think???

i sold my gold chronics, in perfect condition for 220 usd on here. the only flaw was a chip on the topsheet. chronics are pretty bomb, tough skis. i dont know too much about the karmas, but chronics hold up on rails as well as almost anything. id keep your chronics unless you find a super super deal. i loved my chrons.

ive got karmas they r sick as hell a little heavy for park (compared to park skis) but you get used to it fast, you can stomp landings in them though...bombproof too

I'm still undecided. I'm also thinking about just keeping the Chronics for park and all mountain and getting something just for BC and pow. Any suggestions? I can't get a deal on Elizabeths but it would only be a few weeks till I'd have the money. What do you guys think?

I love my Karmas, but you'll definitely notice the difference in swing weight when in the air, though it'd be minimized if you center mounted them I suppose. Volkl recommends against this on the Karma however.
The Karma is a great all-mountain twin for advanced/expert skiers, but when I'm in the air I can definitely tell they're on my feet. Whereas with lighter skis like Salomon and Line (finally got to demo a set) maneuvering is almost effortless once I'm airborne.
So it just depends on what you're doing. The Karma isn't the best park ski out there by any means, but it's a hell of an all-mountain twin... good float, great edge control, and lively if not a bit stiff. I'm 5'10" and 167 lbs riding on 177 Karmas. There are days I wish I'd opted for the 169's just to make my life a little easier and less tiring when I'm just out screwing around on the slopes.

^ yea the karmas r a bit tiring jus becuz you have to work hard for these to perform but o they perform so well, and i agree with the air thing pretty heavy for spins and what not

Yeah I'm not even sure it's so much the overall weight of the ski to be honest. My Karmas with Rossi Axial 110's don't seem that heavy comparatively to other twins I've tried when just holding them in hand, but I don't think Volkl did much if anything to keep the extended weight of the ski down, ie. the progressive weight of the ski as you approach the tip and tail like lots of park ski makers have tended to do.
So despite that fact that overall I'm not sure they're much heavier, they definitely feel like it when you're trying to swing them around.

deffinitely keep the chrons and get some pow skis. made'n aks would be sweet, also the big troubles are supposed to be sick, and scratch bcs would also be nice, or maybe some arvs. i would deffinitely stick with the chrons and buy a pow ski, which one is really up to you.
