yeah I use these blue things that you can find at ski shops, they are shin guards (not the ones for soccer) but they help pad the inside of your boots, so that you can get them tighter. Also use lots of ice at night, it will help it go away

strech before you ski. kneel down and lean back, it will get rid of them.

have you ever had them and that got rid of them? or are you just presuming that stretching would help?

I play rugby alot, and this is a common problem for our team. this methods works. i won't get rid of them completely. the only thing that will do that is time. but it surely will help in preventing them

i feel your pain. what helps me the most is stretching. but don't just stretch after you ski, do it before and afterward, and in the morning and nights on your off days too. it may sound like a lot at first, but the more i stretch, the better mine feel. i've been dealing with them for awhile, and i have not found anything that will outright cure them.

I was getting killed with shin bang and got the top of my boots packed out with 3 mm of foam all round the top.
Basically what was going wrong with mine was that my boots were a bit big and too high volume around the calves for my skinny legs. Take your boots to a decent shop to get them checked out.
Stretching and ice also help, as does ibruprofen if you really want to push it.

Do a bunch of calf raises. this will help get rid of them and help prevent them.

calfs, quads, hamstrings, IT band, all the muscles in your leg. having everything loose day in day helps me out a lot. because each day that goes by that you don't stretch everything starts to get tight again. this is no cure, but i have found it to help reduce the pain.

Stretch thoroughly (all the time not just before skiing).
Padding in the boot (pressed against your shin).
Better boots (buy not for price, buy for the best best best fitting boot).
Put a little more forward pressure on the front of your boots to prevent splints later on.
Tighten up your strap on your boots tight (When I first put my boots on I tighten them up to where they ALMOST hurt, once I get on the slope they loosen up on the first run a bit and they are perfect).
If you do get shin splints, ice them alot, re-adjust your boots, and stretch even more.
