cork 5/ underflip?

underflip is only a 180 you may have been doing underflip 5/cork 5

I dunno CJ... an underflip 5 is basically just an underflip. For example- a misty five is really only a 180 rotation, in a way... these things get confusing... but there's no such thing as a misty 3 or an underflip 3 on skis. So if you do an underflip, its an underflip 5.


But to the topic at hand... I dunno man, impossible to tell without watching it, but the way you say it makes me feel 'underflip.' If it were a corked 5 you'd still be doing the basic 540 rotation, and your head wouldn't go back towards your heels when you go off-axis, it would go back towards the lip of the jump.

but like i said... impossible to say without seeing it.

The two can feel really similar when you first start doin that shit. I was trying cork 5s for the first time in a while and I dont know what the hell happened, I think I threw it to hard towards the ground causing me to flip and spin, finally landing squaw on my ass. I think we need someone to film us so we can check it out.

will do, and i will film it tomorrow. my friend who can d-spin really well said that it would have been a d-spin with another 180. oh well i will film it.

the difference between an underflip and a corked 5 is similar too the diference between a corked 7 and a d spin.... there is kind of a grey area in there where there is some over lap kinda. basicly the diference is that in an underflip you kinda throw a corked 180 into a mostly inverted front flip, and your feet come over the top then down switch. in a corked 5, you start the spin, and then flip a bit and come back to your feet at 540. instead of the feet coming over the top, they stay infront of you, and come down to the side. at 360 in a corked 540, you can look between your legs at the landing, then your feet come down to the side. in an underflip, you are more inverted at 360, and can't really see the landing, then your feet come over the top and down.

How about underflip ~/= back in, half out; half in, front out; or quarter in, side, quarter out.

Once it's blended smoothly, it makes no difference.

BTW, in Propaganda, Vinnie did an underflip with an extra 180 on the end. Fully qualified it as a back/full with lui kang grab. Or mobius loop lui kang... ;)

its all in the technique in throwing it that tells if your doing underflips or cork 5s. and when you come out you aren't as inverted in a cork 5 then an underflip.
