is it just me or is newschool skiing progressing in the wrong direction. skiing supposed to be about what looks good. it is an artform. however, it seems the new tricks from about 04' to 06' are being done just for the sake of being technical, and they look like crap. I'm talking about nose presses, landing switch in the backcountry, spin to win switch ups, and urban drops. I know all of these tricks are very technical and hard to perform, but they just dont look good.
some of the stuff doesnt look that good, but when you watch it with the mindset of knowing how hard it is, its pretty damn amazing. And urban bomb drops look pretty damn smooth. Floating 180's off of stuff onto flat the way the pros do it is pretty nuts.
There is something wrong with you, newschool skiing is about having fun and doing it for the love of skiing, style and art comes second. its just progression.
ill agree with you on the nosepresses looking gay, although it depends on how you do it. yes, it is hard, but sometimes it looks like your tryin to get fucked in the ass...
yep you seem pretty blind to me, they all look pretty damn nice when done right, especially nose presses, i think rail variation is exactly where skiing should be going
I agree with back country switch landing and the tornado like switch ups. But the bomb drops and nosepresses are sweet. SOOOO: check yoself before you wreck yoself.
