i heard its a sick backcountry mountain somewhere in kananaskis wondering if anyones ever hiked and skied it, how to get there, best places to hike, stuff like that u wanna share
Anyway, before yet another thread goes to shit, are you per chance, talking about the proposed ski area near Panorama, or is the one you are talking about really in Kananaskis, because then I cant help you.
i know kananaskis pretty well and im pretty sure theres no sick backcountry place called jumbo youre thinking of invermere and to ski that backcountry you have to drive a long time and probbably walk a long time too
I have hiked there in the summer. if a fucken glacier man. you need all of your shit for that. some of the biggest crevasse's ive ever seen where on jumbo. anyways the snow gets really fucken deep quickly in the winter. you hike in would be too much. The next best way to get in is to get really good at racing and make it on the canadian team. they use jumbo as a training site in the summer. or save up your cash and heli there. but as for hiking, you looking at a day if not more of trekking.
yeah i guess the national freestyle team skis there too in the summers haha but thats a no go. Know of any sick mountains in kanaskis that are do-able in a day trip?
ive never skiied jumbo but snowmobiled around that area. you go upto pano and just keep driving. eventualy the road becomes one lane and two way driving becomes a nightmare. I imagine so insane skiing though
