Any companies make them yet? I know there was a thread like a long while back about it. I think it'd sick to ski switch on water because I wakeboard and it would be fun to have some variation. You could probably break your ankles easier unless they made some kind of special release system.
i ride the obrien twin tip/snowblade waterskis. its so easy to throw lincolns and shit. i havent mastered a 3 yet. passing the handle makes it nearly impossible
uhhh...its called trick skiing. its been done for quite awhile. shorter twins with no fins so you can spin on the water and whatnot. and it doesn't look very cool, stick to the wakeboard if you're looking for style.
from the sounds of it people were describing something other than trick skis...
Maybe I will make some longer/narrower twin tip skis this summer and mount wakeboard bindings on them, should be good fun
The problem is that combo skis just don't work like that and using (2) trick skis like those is really lame...think snowblading with your mom while wearing white rear entry boots, lame...
I have tried tricking using two high performance slalom skis (reg combo bindings wont hold your foot hitting jumps, you need high wraps) and i was able to land some handle-pass 360s....
just stick to wakeboarding...trick skis are the snowblades of the water
Shaun Murray... pro wakeboarder hit a double up on double skis and did a HUGE backflip wake to wake, atleast 10+ in the air... yes you cna get air, practice
trick skiing is the grandfather of wakeboarding. slalom trick that is. But getting air on a wakeboar, trick skis, jump skis etc is all about line tension. I want to buy two Jr Slalom skis put a smaller fin in the back, and a really small fin in the front. You would be able to launch because of how fast the slalom skis cut
Um...You wont launch far with a slalom ski...it might go distance but you wont get much air if any at all...my uncles semi pro slalom skiier and he cuts across the wake at 50-70mph and no air at all...if you want air stick to wakeboarding
the reason your uncle doesn't catch air is he is a slalom skier, he absorbs the wake with his knees, and skis behind a tournament ski boat at a fast speed where there is no wake, plus he is using a slalom rope which has stretch and won't build line tension. It's very possible to get air on one slalom ski, but even more on two. You don't understand the full concept on getting air behind a boat. no offense
THOSE ARE SOOOO SICK, there called trick skis, i have them at my cottage and ride them all the time, there tight, you can ide switch real easy, or you can ride sideways like your on a rail, spinning is hard tho because of handle passing, buut you can start on the dock, (because the fins are realy small) and just go, slide along the dock then drop into the water, and yoru already goign fast enough. there tight
^^ to thin, amagian getiing into ther water with your ski boots on? unless u where mounting water ski bindings on. they would be prity fat to hit some water rails on b awwsome!
Trick skiing is for herbs like my dad. Old school Banana Peels are where it's at. Check in garage sales... hard as fuck to boost. If you wanna aki sw just learn to do a ticktac on a slalom... basic and been done for years. Slolom skiing and wakeboarding are the fucking shit in the summer.
old trick skis give your legs an insane workout. Since they don't have fins, it's only your leg muscles that keep them from sliding around underneath you. They're pretty fun for a little while because it's way easy to ride switch or even sideways, but I prefer wakeboarding and slalom skiing.
