I am staying in south lake tahoe this weekend. I just moved from colorado to california and have never been to a resort in tahoe. Any advice on where to go will be apreciated. I am looking for a good all round mountain. Something with good terain, good groomers, and a good park. Thanks in advance for all the advice.

sierra gets boring if you're not in the park..

kirkwood is a drive away but worth it..

ok, for groomers maybe...but have you ever heard of backcountry gates (there's 5 of them) and plenty of sick lines in bounds just off the groomers. sierra is ill, heavenly is gaper'd out harder than n*. whack stuff there!

haha northstar....whatever you do don't go there this weekend or you'll need a snorkel while you swim through the large amounts of gapers. hit up Alpine or kirkwood for the fresh.

If you want no lines whatsoever, go to homewood. Its less of a drive than northstar alpine and squaw, and youll find way fewer people. not to mention its cheep.
Im not sure about their park status, its probably not that great to be quite honest, they dont even have a halfpipe..
but if your not into park, go there, they have some gnarly stuff in the quail bowl, and its never tracked out.
If your looking more for park, go to kirkwood or sierra. its not too far and its nice. Lots of steep stuff at the wood, and plenty of space too.
If your made of money, want to swim thru crowds, and looking for groomers only, go to heavenly.

^I rode homewood today and it sucked, bad snow because of the low elevation and tough crowds, i wouldn't recommend that place to a newschooler, it's more for old people.

Bad snow?
Ussually they have decent snow on top.
And yeah.. its not really a great place when it comes to parks... but it has some really steep junk if you know where to look.
I kinda grew up skiing there, there have been good times and bad, mostly good, being theres ussually no lift lines and theres almost always powder somewhere on the hill..
just gotta know where to look.
They are planning to expand the resort.. I hope it happens... then again I dont, it will take away a place with a phenominal price
All times are Eastern (-5)
