hey how do you bring around real smooth 180s because whenever i try its like I don't spin enough so i always flail in the air and land backwards upseat or diagonal and fall. how do you guys bring it around smooth?
use your hips. The reason your probably not making it around all the way is that your using your shoulder and upper body to rotate, but your lower body is staying stiff, so your legs end up trailing your upper body and thats why your rotatoin is comming up short. Try using your hips when u spin, its much more controlled, and if you learn with your hips, when u get into bigger spins they will look much cleaner, and you will be able to pull of many grabs without the arms flailing around.
2) Try doing a shifty. When you takeoff, rotate your body for the 180, but leave your feet pointing towards the landing... even try to tweak it away from your spin just a touch... then about halfway through start bringing your feet around to land in the 180 position. It won't look like a shifty if you do it right, just a super smooth 180.
haha i'd love to see you do a smooth 180 over a significant jump.
if you have a problem with this thread get the hell out of our sport, we dont need people like you in it.
can a mod please delete this person just for saying sometihng so gay....this is site is here for a reason...for people to learn things..look at things...to feel good about skiing...not be embarassed about anything
Ya no kidding, I can do some rails, 3's, cork 3's kinda, other spins, alot of grabs and stuff and I still find it really really difficult to do a smooth 180, i don't know what the fuck you are talking about when you are saying that if you can't do it you should leave, keeping a 180 smooth over any decent sized table is hard.
dude, I've seen people ripping out nice 3's with no problems, but doing a 180 make them faceplant like hell. I think they should continue skiing even though they can't do 180's. Don't you?
I agree with what was said above.... I mean granted i don't think he's asking about doing a 180 over a 70 foot table.... but doing that shit isn't easy, especially trying ot make it look smooth and still. That the kinda attitude in skiing that sucks... the i'm better than you so fuck off.. CHILL OUT BRO!
actually i find you usually fall on the back of your head if you fall doing a 180 which leads to serious whiplash and a practical guarantee of a concussion because you hit your head so hard. trust me its not fun.
as for the 180 you need to be really balanced in the air because falling too far foreward can hurt the mcl and too far back hurts the head...lots. dont try it off of step downs or jumps with a lot of pop up, instead tables or step ups. make sure the step up is really big tho since you dont get a lot of air time on those, and once again dont fall back.
just barely try to spin and do it and look at your landing. It is all about relaxing, a 180 is all about the smooth relaxedness and thats all it takes to do them right
