Yo dude, depends whether you want to ski or not. Australia has some pretty average mountains, nothing great, very un-reliable weather, terrain and snow, not a great bet. New Zealand has some of the biggest, steepest and most extreme terrain in the world. Definatley beats the hind legs off Australia as far as skiing goes. But yeah, South Island of New Zealand is where it's at.

yes phattTim we all know that your biased native view of NZ's skiing is that NZ is better than Aussie. Being an aussie i'm going to be totally un-australian and agree with you.

Australia has awesome skiing - you just have to know where to go looking for it. hotham has awesome powder stashes and tree runs through gum trees beat the pants of skiing though pines. However overall NZ is better.

If you want an awesome holiday overall come to australia if you want to travel half way around the world and have great skiing but a shit-house holiday go to NZ.

Personally I would like to see weiner go to NZ as i don't like him. I also think he probably wouldn't pass australian quarentine rules - to ugly or to ape-like or something like that.

If you're going to be there for a year go to Australia.
You can always get a cheap flight over to NZ to ski.

Terrigal is best known for its white beaches and its surfing not skiing or anything to do with snow!!!! Why on earth would you want to go there for a skiing holiday?? Its like a 4/5 hour drive to get to Perisher!!!

Even if you were going on a surfing holiday why would you go to Terrigal in the middle of winter??? its like you're from dumber and dumber heading east to get to the Rockies.
