i have a processor that can do it, and an OS, but I dont use it, because hardly any programs are optimized for it, so it really isnt beneficial.

well, only if the programs you have are made for it, or else it actually can take longer for instructions to be executed by the processor, because it has to translate between 64 and 32 bit stuff...i dont know exactly. but its something like that.

i've got a turion on my laptop too. but without 64 bit windows, it's not near as speedy as it should be. Still it's about the same as some centrino's and better on battery than pentium M's.

i find my turion runs a little to warm to my liking. Im concidering undervolting it to use less battery and less heat but since i dont know how it works to well (i just read on the AMD forum that it helps the heat issue which i want) i dont know how bad it will effect the performance

windows 64 bit? fuck that shit. Windows 3 is where its at, with the original microsoft golf funning on my good old 286. When im feeling ambitious, i break out windows 95, but only in extreme cases.

i have a turion as well, and when i first got it i slapped 64 on it. Honestly, i noticed no performance gains, its still too unstable to really be on any benefit.
You're probably better off with xp pro
