I play collegiate squash. Its big in the north east - all of the small, good liberal arts schools have teams (trinity, bowdoin, bates, st lawrence, hamilton, etc etc) as well as the Ivys and other schools like franklin and marshall, George washington etc.
I played in prep school at St. Marks (Groton was our rival and always wiped the floor with us). I played 1 on the team at St. Marks and play 6-8 on my team at St. Lawrence now. We finished 19th in the country, if that gives you any bearing on how competitive you would be on the team - to whoever asked about squash at St. Lawrence.
If you have a junior ranking it is easier to figure out. For example, our number 1 played on his junior national team at junior worlds (Zimbabwe), our numbers 2 and 3 played prep squash at Brunswick and Hotchkiss and had junior rankings of 15 and 17 in the country as seniors. I was ranked in the 40s and play 6-8. Should give you some indication.
ok well i think ive played something like that..im not sure?is that the one where u throw the tennis ball at the wall and if u catch it off the wall u throw it at the wall to get someeone out and if u dont catch it u have to touvh the wall before someone else throws the ball at the wall first?cas i remember playing that game in grade school.
bahahahahahaha no. Squash is played in a court, like racquetball, except there's tin on the bottom of the front wall and the lines on the floor/walls are different. This is a squash racquet:
Is good fun big time. Havent played since the spring though. I have a buddy who is going to guatemala in two weeks for the (i cant remember what games) but there in Guatemala for something big.
Yeah, squash is actually really intense, I work up such a sweat after 5 minutes of play. My friend really got into it and actually has the goggles and everything.
Haha, getting goggles isn't something that qualifies you as really getting into squash. Thats just something you need. I have goggles, a raquette, a membership at a raquette sports club. Its so fun.
